Premonitions of an upset proved accurate! It's probably all been said by other posters but I just have to add that I thought this was a most welcome return to the committed footy we've been missing this year. The game ranks just below the two Port finals matches but it more meritorious because of the number of senior players missing.
The Dockers' midfield was wiped off the face of this Earth and Medhurst and Farmer were kept very quiet. They didn't under-estimate us, I think Fevola got it right last week when he said they played too far forward of the ball to be a finals contender. They were always looking for the easy receive whereas our guys were getting the hard ball and using it to good effect.
Crow didn't do much but I saw enough to show the kid has got the footy smarts. He took a couple of nice marks and didn't seem to mind getting stuck in. He'll make it.
Tex made his mark in defence, where he's been playing at Willi, and it is nice to know that the raw talent we saw in his first game is developing nicely. Maxwell and Cole are really finding their mark and I like the look of our new defence. We've scarcely missed a beat down back despite losing Wakelin and Presti. I think we should be looking at promoting General Clement; Field Marshal, maybe?
Taz made a welcome return and that eased the pressure on the other guys. Kingy must be in the running for goal of the year! When it went through and put us 30 points up, I knew we were home. Despite the Dockers pulling within 14 points, they had a long way back after Kingy's kick. Too long.
But we won that game in the middle. Keeping the Dockers quiet was only half of it. When the heat was on, we can count on Bucks stepping up and the man did. O'Bree kick-started the first quarter but reverted to his norm thereafter whereas Bucks just kept on going all night. I think we won the clearances, although it was close, despite a losing ruck. Fraser, though, showed that he can make up around the ground for what he loses in the centre bounces.
It's interesting, too, that again we ran the game out better than the opposition. It's a shame that, although it will go down to the wire, we will probably not play finals, because we are getting stronger at the right time of the year. The conditioning guys had it right.
So, in an ever-increasing spirit of optimism, we take on the Bombers next. I don't think Kevin Sheedy is going to be looking forward to it. MM and our guys, however, certainly will be. I just couldn't believe how happy MM looked after the game of Friday night; his eyes were blazing and he even cracked it for a big grin!

That was a famous victory i did not think we were a chance as fremantle had every thing to gain(is football played in the mind?).It was the best we have handled the ball all year now it may have proven to the playing group we can play at this level(younger players). It also shows me our depth is better than it appears but not trying to be negative there are 3 games left hopefully we don't have a blowout game in the next 3 weeks, but on the flip side there is light shining through the key hole for a finals berth. If we don't make the finals, i hope we finish 9th as this will prove we are the best side out the 8.With the injuries and suspension we had this season and we can go into pre-season with some cofidence.

GO PIES!!!!!!!
A fantastic win by all, and i cant wait until next week, with lloyd not a 100% (if he gets up) it will be a ripper.
And if you notice in the herald sun we are actually rated a 2% chance to make the finals.
Its Not Over Until Its Over!!!!!!!!

Was so happy for a) the people from around the country that made the trip and b) for the WA supporters who haven't seen us over there for awhile.
This kind of ending is a great way to lead into season 2005 - rather than coming into the season with a string of losses there are some positives that will hopefully continue shine into next year.
The trip to Perth is often written off before the plane even takes off. All we need is the same thing to happen now when we go to the Gabba and it will be fab!
Freo were disappointing for a team that was given a lot of kudos as a premiership chance. You expect more from a team that has the chance to make it... if we were there we'd give them a shake.
Great to see Tarko giving it a bit too...

Nearly re broke my ankle jumping around the lounge room when King did that snap over his head, what a bonus this kid is. Leon was brillant, but I thought there was LSD in my tea when O'bree played a blinder. Great to see Taz back out there, Burnsy was fantastic as usual along with Licca, Clement, Woewodin, Lockyer - loved it when he knocked down medhurst and shaped up to shit head farmer. Wnat a great effort by the boys - lets finish off the year with another 3 gritty wins like this! Hey Shockers you know where to stick it, right up your purple arses!
