Speaking of Maynard, he'll be filling in as captain tomorrow night.

They should build a brick wall at the top of the race in place of the banner tonight and have Bruzz burst through that.

Or the old country footy yarn where the Captain asked for the bolts on the changeroom door to be loosened enough so he could burst through after his pre-match address to get the boys fired up.
Then only to learn later that they actually forgot to do it but he runs through it anyway. The same result, the inspired players went out and smashed the opposition.

Good mate of mine, quite senior at one of the other Afl clubs laments the fact that they don’t have anyone on their list like Maynard - says you need someone who is genuinely hard at it, and who intimidates fairly. Says Maynard’s worth is not appropriately realised. Just love the bloke

I think you'd struggle to find one Pies supporter who doesn't value Maynard or underappreciate him.

I agree - he is a 'heart and soul' type of player. Tough and skillful and given to desperate acts that can lift a team.
I think therefore I think - I think

Certainly wouldn’t be anyone internally who doesn’t value the guy. I love him.
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...

Niall:

'Maynard’s father Peter is a former Melbourne player and long-time Demons official who is still involved in the club via Casey in the VFL program. Maynard said while he discussed his own game with his father, they did not talk about Collingwood and Melbourne when the teams clashed.'

I didn't know that!!

Maynard's grandfather Graham Campbell played 151 games for Fitzroy and won their B&F in 1957.
His father Peter played only 8 games for Melbourne, but 217 SANFL games.
His (older) brother Corey played 2 games for Melbourne, 1 each in 2017 and 2018 (sadly, both losses).

Redemption is sweet, no dog Rosebury to take 2023 away from you and us, unlike 2018.

Yep.

Happy for him and the other 8 who played in the 2018 GF and had to endure the pain that comes with a Grand Final loss.
