You forgot GC. They could then reinstate the famous Grundy/Witts combination!!

Gawn been best on ground for consecutive weeks. Hard to see Grundy getting back into the team unless Gawn is injured again.

Fritsch will return as a forward.

Mick Malthouse in the Hun wrote that Melb. would not have beaten Brissy if Gawn hadn't rucked the whole last quarter.

MM: "That's not a sledge on Grundy, but he's not Gawn."

So, Grundy won't be at the Dees next year. Isn't a part of the forward structure and isn't needed behind Gawn.

Gotta be  when you've been stinking up the forward line the whole season and a defender (Petty) goes there and immediately kicks 6 goals.

Highlights how atrocious Grundy's "forward craft" is.

Mods shouldn’t this thread be moved to the VFL board now Grundy is a fully fledged VFL player and will remain that way until he is traded to Port then he will be a bona fide SNALF player within his first season there

Grundy comes back Melbourne can’t score and can’t win
Last few weeks without him they looked invincible
He comes back they would struggle to beat north

If he came to Collingwood, he'd still be the best ruckman at the Club, of course - because whatever you think of him, the ones we still have are execrable - but I'm glad you guys get so much fun out of Grundy's plight while our team is getting pantsed by a pack of weak vermin who don't win away from their home ground.

Cox was a better match up for Oscar due to their similar height and frames.

Grundy better suited to taking on the gorilla sized types

Nah not exactly lions were 7 - 1 from there last 8 games at marvel which is exactly why it should have been played at the MCG and right now he would be in best 3 rucks at Collingwood but whether he would be playing AFL or VFL is debatable
But he’s a Melbourne player now so let’s just concentrate on that
When he left you stated now he had a elite midfield to hit the ball to they would be unbeatable basically
Well news flash ole mate it’s not his forward craft keeping him out of the team it’s the simple fact when he attends centre bounces they were -44 and when Gawn was there hitting to the same midfield they were +72 in clearances (this was before he was dropped and we’ve all seen how Gawn has dominated since)
It’s not the midfield who are the issue
Even last week we saw him miss open players with his tap work or lack there of it
Buckley hinted quite recently when he was dropped under the guise of he needs to work on his forward craft (what a joke) that Grundy isn’t open to coaching or learning new things
I think his exact comment was Brodie is very set in his ways and the way he approaches how he plays the game
That’s coach speak for don’t listen and won’t learn
Melbourne did us a huge favour taking the him off our hands
They won’t be getting a pick in the 20’s back for him for sure plus they’ll need to eat a huge part of his salary as well
Which ever club he ends up at next year will be better off because they’ll be paying him around $450k season which is close to his true worth

Who cares what Buckley thinks? Grundy carried our worst coach since Hafey to a Grand Final on his back.

Yeah, gobsmacking, isn't it.

Melb play Grundy, Melb lose.
Melb dump Grundy, Melb win.
Melb recall Grundy, Melb lose.
Melb dump Grundy again, Melb win.

An exact match!!

Hard to believe we didn't put a clause in the contract to say our financial commitment is void if he is on traded.
