Make that 70 to 31. Game over, by the looks of it unless the wheels fall off St Kilda.

Melb dominate HOs 40-10. It's not helping them at all.
They are not winning the clearances.

This is a bit like the problem at the Pies.

Saints by 45 at 3/4 time. They've kicked the last 8 goals in a row.

Yes, part of the problem, watching them, is that they are handling the ball poorly - eg, Gawn put it down Oliver's throat about half-way through that quarter but it sploshed all over him and the Saints ran away and kicked a goal. That's been the story of the game. Melbourne can't get any space to kick cleanly - when they do, they are very skilled but it's only occasional and it keeps breaking down. Part of the problem may be that they're achieving the dominance by playing two genuine ruckmen. Neither Gawn nor Preuss can follow up and play as an extra mid like Grundy, so they are spectators after the hit out.

The similarity extends to the on-paper quality of their midfield: Brayshaw, Viney, Petracca, Oliver, Harmes...

At least three of them are chronically overrated. I'd have Oliver, maybe Viney - the rest you can raffle.

Looking forward to tomorrow's games. Very much hoping to see Carlton keep their streak alive. They are the only team in the AFL that can still have a perfect record after round 5.

Brayshaw's Brownlow odds at the start of the year looked quite tempting to me.
Petracca has stagnated.

I think Melbourne still believe they're playing the 4th quarter of the Preliminary final.

Mentally shot.

Melbourne were 3rd-last on my "injury ladder" a few days ago. I think people underestimate the influence of injuries. But StK were last, so Melb are in a lot of bother. (Richmond are nowhere near the bottom. They have only one long-term injury.)

Rich 22-20 Swans early in Q2.

"Richmond is the No.1 ranked team for ground kicks this season and was in both 2017 and 2018."

Yup. Ugly footy. Hack, hack, hack. Don't even try to pick it up.

Rich 53-26 late in Q2. :(

Syd are going to struggle this year.

Tigers 60-32 in the third.
