Reid has pace. But I am tempted to just bring Burns in for Ruz and rotate Burnsy into the forward line except for the Centre Bounces.

The other players we have aren't magpie through and through because their name isn't Shaw right? Egan surely is not magpies through and through because he is black right? Anyway we've been burying the supposed demons for five years now.daicos35 wrote:Rhyce has to play this week. The sight of a Brisbane jumper is gunna be like a hot poker to him. If he keeps going like this he'll bury alot of demons in 2008. Please, play Rhyce, he's a magpie, through and through.
I don't think we performed that badly against Brisbane back when they were dominant, we certainly played alot better than most sides did against that team. How many sides beat them back then??
Every time we beat them, it's "we've buried demons", every time they beat us it's "ahh Brisbane still have the wood on Collingwood", how long can this merry go round of bullsh1t carry on for? 2050, "err get out the shovel Collingwood have beaten Brissie, looks like they have buried those demons"
ps. I realise you probably weren't referring to Collingwood's demons but Rhyce's specifically but what I said applies to most people's opinion. Also just ignore the black call, I'm sure you aren't racist but I do believe alot of people are subconsiously and indirectly racist towards aboriginal players, they tend to get judged more harshly and people often make up their mind quicker on them. If Egan was white I doubt people would say "ra ra ra I don't think he goes in hard enough" sure people are saying it for Lonie now, but not when he was 21.

Peter Daicos was on SEN this morning and said he thought Ego could be the replacement deep forward for Ruzza. Tend to agree. Gives us some good mobility. Ego is a little soft (maybe with some confidence will harden up a bit more and want to get involved), but has good pace and height as a leading forward moving deep or up to the flanks/wing. Also gives us another midfield rotation.
In fact I thought we functioned better when Ruzza went off. As I've said before, Ruzza is one dimensional and if that dimension doesn't work he is almost a liability. Anyone agree?
Wouldn't drop racer either. Was easily one of our best. Towelled up Headland in the middle and the Dockers moved him to F50 to prevent Racers pace advantage over him.
I'm a big fan of Reid and want him to get Games (Also in my Supercoach team!). Hard to argue for him to get a spot when Ego can play his role and rotate midfield and played well last week. Although Ried would strech the Lions defense.
So with Ego going forward, this leaves a midfield spot for either Johno or Burnsy. Both IMO are walk ups to our side if fully fit and match hardened. I predict Johno is in for a big one this year (like 2006). Has been playing really well in preseason games too. He also bring in good experiance, pace and leadership.
Also hard to leave out the Captian! Although I'm unaware of his fitness. Only played one preseason game and got hurt. Does he need another Praccy game? If fit play him IMO. OBree is one of our few clearance players. Burns would add to this.
So IMO.
Out: Ruzza In: Johno
Out: Clarke In: Burns (If ready to go)
Just think Clarke may need a game or 4 in the twos to get his form and feel for the game back . Just seemed a little lost to me. Not that he had a shocker. Just needs to get that awareness back. He did do some real nice things under pressure too.
Its a tough one. But a good problem to have

Are we all so happy with Egans dsiplay last week? MM wil probably give Egan more time however I'd prefer to have Burns & Johnno in the side.Zakal wrote:cfc2009-10-11-12 wrote:I still dont think we will replace him with another tall against the Lions, we will go for pace. As for Reid, a run against a young Lions defence is not such a bad thing.
I'm leaning towards the idea that there will only be the one (forced) change. In my book, Egan and Rhyce both had good games and would be very unlucky to get dropped and Clarke is a class act, who will surely bounce back this week.
Out: Rusling (inj)
In: Burns
It would mean playing just 2 marking forwards in Pebbles and Travis, but as Egan, Josh, Pendles, Maxwell and Thomas can all float down there at times, we should have enough forward options. Reid will no doubt get his chance some time soon. Johnno may have to work his way from the reserves back into this team. This is the mark of a genuine Premiership contender, when players of this ilk are no longer guaranteed spots in the team.

Everyone's given interesting and well thought out views on who the ins and outs will be. It's a tough choice. I predict the following:
Sean Rusling OUT
Ben Johnson IN
(If Reid comes in I'll also be happy from a Super Coach point of view! Sheedy's team will be in a lot of trouble)

In: Johnson, Burns, Bryan
Out: Rusling, Clarke Egan
Bryan and Wood should carve up in the ruck with fraser playing forward and dominating, fraser played in his correct position will dominate, he is just not a ruckman, but he is a GREAT FOOTBALLER.

Why wouldn't the pies play three Ruckman and that is only if you think we are playing josh as a ruckman. I think it is agood idea i mentioned it earlier and got no respones.
But I think it is the way to go up in the heat.
