It's an NAB cup game, worth NOTHING.

No players got injured, they live to fight another day.

Are we all going to write this team off this year if we loose in Albany next week? ......... or are we going to Jump back on if we win?

The real season runs for 22 H&A weeks and that is where the season will be set up to aim for a premiership.

Oh yeah do you remember who the reigning NAB Cup coach is?............thats right Denis Pagan.

Virtually sacked by his players 15 weeks later because they were crap and they blamed him.

I don't think Eddie is going to sack MM any time soon.

Look at the bigger picture for this team and support them no matter what.
Exactly. I love games like this, they flush out all the imbeciles.

The Pies looked off their game, but did show flashes of what their capable of. It was made to look a lot worse by the fact they were playing a team that was obviously far more advanced in it's training program.
Personally I think the Pies are right where they should be, building towards the start of the season, and thank god their out of the NAB Cup and away from the idiotic interchange rule that exists within that competition. Now they can start playing football under normal conditions and using the interchange bench correctly.
A Collingwood supporter since the egg was inseminated.

It was shocking to watch the positives to come out are
1 Our back line got lots of practice
2 Heath Shaw
3 J Anthony and Brown got some exposure to senior football
4 Don't have to play NAB anymore
5 No one got injured
6 Players now know what areas they need to improve

The one glaring thing for me was the Crows short, sharp, penetrating passing by foot.

Surely this would highlight that we do need a full time skills coach.

R.Shaw hnadball errors were bad but not anywhere near as bad as Johnson's passing by foot - woefull.

Boys looked fine to me - but skills, skills, skills.

From where I was watching..McIvanney was extremely critical of EVERY Pies player,FULL of praise for EVERY Crows player, was so one sided that it wasnt funny and if this is the way that he will commentate this year, well sorry not interested in watching any of the games on channel 7.
Also from where I sat it appeared that Crows were playing League instead of Aussie rules as the amound of handball was gigantic and they just didnt kick as much...reminnds me og WCE last year, also the frees that were given against Maxwell were 'bloody stupid' to say the least.
Any way It was a good spectacle all round and I just hope that this isnt anything to go by for the remainder of the season....if so it will be a long one and hard........
Lets see what happens.

I will also make a few constructive comments over the radio station on Monday

OK, so we lost a PRE-SEASON game.

Who got the four points?

Did we drop any spots on the ladder?

All you nay-sayers can piss off now if you think one PRE-SEASON game is any indication of how the real season will turn out.

Fair weather supporters! Who needs 'em. Go follow the Scum if you want PRE-SEASON glory.

Yeah so its a "preseason' BUT look at it constructive.....this gives one some idea of the season ahead,BUT also OK its the first hit out,BUT I am still at a loss as to why the commentators still gave the raspberry to the PIES,why the CROWS insisted on handball and why there was so much hype over the game.......
I still feel that our guys could have put in a bit more effort.............

I think that is Brisbane's bandwagon Joffa judging by elaborate and costly appearance and its distinct lack of people on board.

It was circle work, they just kicked the goals as we ran up and down and around and around. Channel seven spent $500000. They should ask for a refund..lol
