nothing in the waters hit...it was as perfect a bump as you can imagine. Waters is a decent player but mostly across half back where he causes little damage. Expect him to have a greater role in the midfield with their injuries...so we should have some planning for him. Im hearing Rosa will probably pull up ok from the AC joint sprain he suffered. But we should be testing it out early

Eagles, No easy task

Post by choppa »

i know alot of us are pretty confident this week to beat the Weagles.

But i reckon they will give a red hot crack at it.

Home Ground advantage & i reckon all there players will be HATING everyone saying

No Judd,Cousins,Kerr = NO Eagles. So i wont be suprised if they try there heart out to show the critics wrong.

Be prepared for a focus team of eagles this week.

Also on alot of geelong supporters are saying they rather play West Coast in the PF cos they dont like the idea of playing us @ the G :D

Chick will play on Rusling as Chick is very quick. I reckon they will try to unsettle Ruzza and Chick is the man to do it. Wakes will play on Lynch - we have no one else to do the job. I would not play Goldsack on Lynch he simply isnt big enough.

Tarkyn on Embley is a good match up for us as Embley does not play tight. Stenglein will play on Buckley.

Given who is likely to miss from the Eagles, if we tackle like we did against the Swans we will win easily. Thomas, Pendlebury and Davis to make the difference through the centre.

By the way - what a difference a firing Didak makes to our team. He uses the ball perfectly. If we can develop him into an on-baller we will be a 5 goal better team.

Ive said this a few times, but i reckon the WCE game is going to be one of our toughest of this finals series.

You do not get to be a premiership side by relying soley on 3 players (as good as they are). Whats more, Kerr and Judd always get a shitload of the ball against us, but it never seems to influence the result. They get a heap of it when they beat us, and when we beat them, so they are not necessarily the players who carve us up the most. Players who seem to be the most problematic for us are actually Cousins and Lynch in my opinion. Even when Lynch was a complete hack, he had a field day against us...and Cousins, well Cousins is their spirtual leader, and imo, their most damaging player. But Cousins was out last time we played them at Subi and we still lost.

Look at the rest of their lineup:
Cox
Braun
Embley
Priddis
Rosa
Lynch
Glass
Chick
Selwood
Stenglein

This will NOT be a walk in the park. If it was at the MCG, perhaps we cause we can usually beat them at the G even at full strength....but at Subi its a whole different ball game.

Id almost be prepared to go as far as to suggest that even a depleted WCE at Subi is a tougher gig than an arrogant ego-inflated Geelong at the MCG. We played like absolute shit against Geelong at the G last time and lost by less than 3 goals. Prior to that game we had beaten them 4 of the last 5 times by an average margin of 50pts. It will probably be a tougher game against Geelong after their week off, but we love being the underdogs and hate being expected to win.

Yes, agree. Sick of hearing about their injuries because it is almost impossible to beat them at Subiaco no matter who they put on the park.

Long flight + Bastard of a ground + Reigning premiers + Six day preparation + Our inexperience = Very bloody hard task - Judd/Kerr/Cousins + Underrated reserve midfielders = bloody hard task

We havent won there since 1992, this game isnt gunna be easy.
For memory our starts have been ordinary the last few times playing them over in the west. They get 3 to 4 goals up then we come back and fall short.

Welll people, Fly out Friday morning and I will be in a bar in Bali watching the game live. Long time since I have seen us win over there (WA)and will have my fingers crossed. A win will see the Bintang going down that much better, not that I need an excuse. :)

If we play like we did against the Swans we are a huge chance. Trouble is our form is Win Loss Win Loss, we have been hot and cold for a while. I hope they play Judd and my BOG prediction is the Great Man. Bucks has been steady, I reckon he wants a crack at the Cats and will lift the team. Go Pies!!!!

Agee, agree, agree.

If anyone thinks we've one this just on the basis that WCE are missing Judd, Kerr, Cousins, Hansen are kidding themselves. They still have a quality side on the park and are playing at home.

With all the injuries they have and did have during the game (and conseqentual reduced rotations), they still pushed Port to 3 points at their home.

Their loss of their "stars" just evens it up for us and they still have the home ground advantage.

The East Perth thirds would be hard to beat at Subiaco, let alone a champion side with great depth. We will not beat them easily no matter what side they field, and no matter how hard we tackle. But yes, the same intensity we had against the Swans is the minimum requirement for getting anywhere near winning this.

Come on guys, it's at Subi.

Home town frees will be the order of the day I'm afraid. But thank your lucky stars for small blessings - thank god we didn't get Chamberlain.
