quotes from a Swans board...
I left before the siren and got on the train ahead of the 64,000 person crush.
64k is a crush hahaha
It wasn't a Sunday game so the Collingwood supporters may ahve forgotten by Monday at work......I feel sick at the thought of it.
:twisted:
Ditto on leaving .. I commented to my seatmates that I'd give 'em til midway through the third to make me love them again, but it wasn't to be.
:shock:
Many of us here spend a lot of time, money and effort supporting the Swans and we deserve better than last nights rubbish. I booed at 3/4 time. I left at about the 20 min mark last quarter, a rare thing for me to do. If they weren't gonna make the effort, neither was I.
:shock: :shock:
Get back on top.

lol!

Anyways, just some thoughts on Clarke, I can't tell the difference between Shnider and Buchanon, but whichever he played on they played more as a mid who drifts forward than as a lead up and mark HFF, probably hoping to exploit Clarke around the packs, WRONG strategy! he beat whichever it was with ease, some stats;

20 possesions, second for Collingwood behind Shane O'Bree.
7 contested, more than Lockyer, Thomas, Pendlebury, Johnson or Holland.
4 clearances, second, agan, to O'Bree in the Collingwood team.
4 tackles, more than Lockter, Swan or Holland.
and lastly, by far the most impressive IMO;
100% time on ground, along with Wakes and Maxwell, our two key backs.

This guy basically played second mid behind O'Bree and in his first game of AFL spent 100 percent of the game on the park! Amazing.

couple of other things noticable in the Champion Data stats;

Didak had 4 goal assists.
Cox and Holland only spent about half the time on ground.
Stanley's 8 disposals where %100 effective, but he had one clanger?!
Pendles laid 7 tackles.
O'Bree won 8 clearances.
Rocca took 11 contested possesions and 6 contested marks.

Best win of the year so far, and we have a few in the wings too;

IN RESERVE:
Bryan
Medhurst
Lonie
Dick
Cook
Wellingham
Ried
Brown
Iles
Nicholls
Davies
Macaffer

INJURED:
Buckley
Clement
Presti
O'Brien
Rhyce
Egan
Rusling
Anthony
Dawes
Toovey

Both those lists have some quality names on them, nice to see.

GO PIES!
go pies!

Cam what you posted is the reason why i have no respect for the swans. They talk about a side dishing out rubbish. They are talking about a team that has got into 2 grand finals straight, and won one of them. I think the club has done pretty well by its supporters.

And to leave so early like they did!!! The game was no where near over. The Swans always come back. Poor effort by their fans.

And GOOOOOOOO PIESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

That was an unbelievable effort last night. We have 5 our of a best 6 not playing in the backline if I'm not mistaken - you can't ask for much more from the boys. They were superb.

That was an AMAZING footy experience!!! I :D T was our first interstate trip, and boy are we glad we went!! Met some lovely people on ferry and bus, sat with all the Collingwood crowd behind the goals and it was so much FUN!!! :D. Was great to silence the Sydney crowd.

The boys were soooo switched on from the outset, relentless tackling and an all round TEAM effort. Tarks was fab and well done to Moneybags on continually backing himself. Very, very proud of the boys tonight! Unfortunately I missed Rocca's mark (waiting in the bar queue for drinks!) but Daisy's goal!!!!!!! The place went nuts and the celebrations began! Even on the flight home the song was sung a number of times (thanks to the cheeky, but cute male flight attendant! :lol: ).

PS. It seemed that Tooves was on our flight home, and was on crutches???

Man it was great to be there last night, giving them absolute crap! I couldn't believe how early they were all leaving!!

I was singing the song, and a Swans supporter in her 60s turned around and said "Oh! Would you just shut up?!"

I'm like "Lady, I'm not getting on a plane at 6am tomorrow, without celebrating as much as I can!"

I was in Sydney from Thursday till this morning, and the build up to the game was driving me crazy.. My poor brother and his girlfriend, who live in Sydney, have to put up with it all the time! Every news report, every radio broadcast all said "WE are going to kill them! WE are the best! Collingwood do not stand a chance against US!"

Thank god the news isn't like that when Melbourne are playing an interstate side here! Lol!

Love always, Alyssa xoxo

Well done boys- several swannies had a fresh one torn for them O'Loughlin, Hall, Bolton, Barry and so on...

I hope this shuts up the jerks who crap on about our 'favourable' draw. We have gone interstate 4 times in the first 12 weeks and won 3 out of four. No other Melbourne side will match this effort- guarantee it!

The comments on Channel 10 were begruudging towards our efforts (there was abpiece there where they kept on going on how much the Swans were depleted by Kenneally being out & Nikita davis. Finally Walls quietly admitted that the Pies had the far worse of the injuries. However, - they loved highlighting Rocca's indiscretion (I think he'll get 2 for it).

Goldsack was great and he reminds me more of Andrew Ireland from the 1970's A tall running backman who loves a dash.

Cannot wait for Reid to debut- he made Chris Grant look second rate today at werribee (12 marks and four big goals)

We are playing well, just need to keep the heads in proportion to where we are at- havenet made the finals yet, much less won a game in September.

Next Sunday will be another learning curve for our young team.

By the way, Burns smother was right up there with the Bucks effort against the Bloods a few years back.

It was simply an awesome win! How good was Daisy, certainly back to his best! My only criticism is that we could have blown the game apart early if not for (again) inaccurate kicking....a nice margin certainly wont hurt given this yr's tight contest for the upper part of the ladder!!!

ps....it was amazing to bump into a Caucasian who was wearing a Pie jumper in HK yesterday......it is soo true that us Pies fans r everywhere!!!!!!!
