How good was pendles' bump on the members wing? Perfectly legal. For a moment i thought he may have killed the bloke.

The roar of the crowd on the radio was amazing, clearly 2-1 in pies favour, could even hear it over the top of the shanghai jack hammers which is rare at the moment.

8) I flew down ,saw the best side on the planet, sat alongside the cheer squad and had a ball. That second half was amazing. I got very pissed and I'm flying home today sick but very happy and proud to be a Magpie. Might see some of you in briz. :D

And i felt ill every time Holland got his hands on the ball...

I agree and was pleased Malthouse benched him for considerable periods. I think it would be better for Dutchie to get form in the Magoos before coming into the game. He should be better for the run though.

Not sure about Iles - he looks a bit out of his depth.

Toovey impressed again. I think he is highly rated by the coaching staff.

I think you have to give credit to the way Carlton matched up on us in the first half to its coaches. They really blocked our run and forced us to overpossess the footy. Also, they were winning more of the hard ball and clearances.

Great to see how the team straightened up in the third.

Credit to Swan for a blistering third quarter and a great game. IMO he was BOG.

Agree with the earlier comment that 2007 has a different feel from 2006. I think there is excitement with the young players stepping up. Credit to the recruitment and player development, for which Malthouse has been held accountable for in the past by some - eg. SLY from the RANT.

I think Dick will get a spell next week and Leon "Magic" Davis will return.

We will missy Jimmy next week as he usually plays on Johnson. Seems that Harry Hawaii Five O will get that job.

Didak is pure class - out for so long and back doing things that are freaky.

Go Pies!

Why would you be cringing at half time? Haven't 4 of our 5 wins happened in the second half?
Because they've (Carlton) done it to us many times before, and it wasn't just because of the way both sides were playing - trust me, it isn't fun to sit next to gloaters!
MAGFAN8 wrote:Why this four quarters stuff? Have WCE won 24 quarters this season? I don't think so. Did they last season? Or Sydney, before that? No.

As I've oft stated, a good team absorbs scoreboard pressure from the other team and finishes over the top - or buries them in the third quarter and cruises home.

But if you only win the last quarter and finish in front, who cares that you didn't win any of the others?
That's a fair point, however the key is to continually put in four good quarters. As good as we have been in our second halves, it's time that we continually pieced four solid quarters together on a regular basis. I love the comebacks, but we wouldn't need to worry had we been playing with a bit more freedom in the second quarter, in particular. Credit to the Blues who did play well in that first half.

Re the 1/4 time 'all in'......even Mick recons that the boys were provoked and hope that they have DEEP POCKETS....
It all stemmed apparently when the guys were going to their initial 1/4 huddles, and Fevola raced blindly thru the huddle, collected DID's on the way, king hit Josh & was inturn flattened by Dids.......it was then on your young and old and Fevola came out of it with a bloodied head...pity it wasnt his neck.........
Fevola was in the room for 1/4 time but came out after the break with stiches in his head.Josh was knowcked out BUT Dids was OK....
The Fox 1 commentators were all for the brawl,BUT recon that the BLOOS won the fight....yeah right...

[please explain how he [Iles] looked out of his depth?]

Look, I hope you are right and it is just based on watching him in this game and the previous game he played in the seniors. More a gut feel about the way he plays than any specific criticism but it is early doors and I don't have a definite view about him yet.

I just compare him to Cox & Toovey who have really looked likely types from the moment that they stepped on the park.

Yep despite having his back to Maxwell he ran into Maxwell
Sorry of course because it was Maxwell it was Maxwells fault on the other hand if it be a Cloke, obviously on Trav these days as your other to partners have been dismissed it no doubt would have been Fevs fault.

Do not know where you saw the incident from but there was no way known that was a correct decision.

I wouldnt be defending a Cloke doing something so stupid, then again they wouldnt so not a concern

But just because it was Maxwell of course he did nothing wrong, never has done a thing wrong in his entire career has he? The perfect player, surely taken over Tarrants 600k and next year will take Bucks 900k and the captaincy as he is perfect

It may shock you to hear this but you cannot go and knock players over 30m off the ball when the ball is dead, especially not in the back.

Love how turned that around on me, since when have I said he was perfect?

Once again it wasn't in his back he barely knocked him and Fev intentionally fell over playing for the free and got what he wanted but it's hard for you too see past you Carlton, clouded judgement.

Well you refuse to hear that he may have made a stupid error yesterday

Oh and got nothing to with who or where, if Presti did it to Johnson I would abuse him as well

Funny how there was no sympathy for Maxwell yesterday in the crowd, only here from those who see nothing wrong with anything he has ever done

I refuse to believe he did anything wrong because he did nothing wrong you moron. I don't have my manhood stuck up his clackler unlike you with certain others.

 Yet feel the need to resort to the abusive post now

But thats fine, you see nothing wrong with belting the oppositions no1 forward off the ball handing them a certain goal, glad we got that sorted out, just hope you dont abuse anyone who does it in the dying seconds and costs us the game in the future

I've read too many of your posts.

I see plenty of things wrong with belting the opposition forwards in their forward line just lucky Maxwell didn't do that. And FYI it was Harry who gave the 50 away for asking "what was that for".
