It's not that I watch a lot of him, but Weideman's stats don't read great.

Melbourne recruited a broken Brown ... because they needed a tall forward !

And

Weideman was one of the last players I ever worried about when we've played Melbourne.

That's all I've got to go on. I'm not excited.

Ill just say this on Weideman.

He has been uninspiring but with his injuries (jaw) and Covid combined there has been some grounds for not seeing him at his best.

He seems to fit the typical mould for a tall KPP with potential (#9 2015 draft ) that could be ready to come good.

If he is cheap, get him!!

Keen on Lipinski to strengthen our midfield, and wouldn't mind Wallis and Tom Lynch from the Crows to bolster our forward stocks and they'll come cheap which is a bonus.
Did you see him have 23 touches and kick 3 goals to sink Geelong in the 2018 elimination final?

Can play.

Something was in the water

2 weeks later, Cox 3 goals, 11 Marks

Just kidding, He has something, maybe its injuries/confidence etc NFI
But since he has been more Lettuce than Weed

2019 (11 games, 11 goals))
Selected round 1
Round 7 (Omitted) (returned round 11)
Round 17 out injured. Didn't return

2020 (13 games, 19 goals)
Didnt kick a goal in his last 4 games ! Total 7 Marks in his last 4 games !

Played all rounds from rounds 6 to 18, melb didnt make finals.

2021
Melb Recruit Ben Brown

Yes, Weids confidence must be shot.. Certainly looks like it. At 24 he can either confirm he isn't up to it, or perhaps he turns a corner.

Games played each year since 2016... 3,7,10,11,13,5

In Hine we trust ?

I agree, he Hasn’t performed since breaking his Jaw and COVID.
He’s definitely a risk, but one that may pay off if we could consistently get him on the park.

In Wright we trust

Maybe a “one great game a season” player like Cox

Rumour floating around - Darcy Moore's knee injury is not progressing as the club would like and he is weeks behind schedule.

Too early to tell whether he will need surgery but the club will know more when Darcy finally steps up his running intensity.

If required early surgery is better than waiting a few more weeks I reckon.

Its a medical issue which may have health repercussion for the rest of his life.

The priority is often this :

Let the swelling go down and assess
If surgery isn't obvious, allow time for the body to heal itself. Self-healing takes priority over surgery.
If, in time, the body hasn't responded, surgery is considered.

I would like to nip it in the bud too. We sometimes criticise the club, it's not like that.

A 33 yr old may opt for surgery. It's his last year and wants to play out the year.

But Moore is young, It's not even pre-season, it may well be his call to defer surgery and follow doctors advice.

Agree with you and happy for him to take the doctors advice. If surgery was required, still prefer if his choice was to do it sooner rather than later.
