It will only rise further over winter, that's the price it seems to be able to lose restrictions in a highly vaccinated society. Is it too high? The answer seems to be no.
There is bugger all data on co-morbidities for the deceased other than most of them are really old so we don't know the contributing factors, what we do know is most vaccinated people under 60 experience with Covid is at worst a mild flu.
I've posted before about the concept of "life years", if my lifestyle reduces my life expectancy by 5 years and that's the 5 years I would have otherwise spent being physically and/or mentally buggered, being unable to do what I want, requiring assistance to take a shower or get dressed, not knowing who my kids are, that's a trade I'm happy to make.

Another cost to bear in mind, though I don't know what the Aussie numbers are:
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/ ... hin-a-yearOnly 29% of UK Covid hospital patients recover within a year.
In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

bang bang !! go Dave, well said!!Dave The Man wrote:Maybe because of the Vaccines Workingeddiesmith wrote:It's amazing, haven't had to wear a mask for months and despite Covid being more rampant than ever, still haven't caught it.
Pretty much everything that was banned during Covid has returned including shared meals at work, water boys at the footy, shared tea breaks at cricket and still not being spread.
Maybe none of those things actually prevented Covid in the first place.
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!

6,070 COVID deaths in the year. That means that 87% of all deaths from COVID in Australia have been recorded in the last 12 months. And, of that 87%, 4,727 of 6,070 (78%) have been recorded since 1 January 2022.
Last Year we where trying to Keep Numbers Low as Possible and now we are Living with Covid

Lol, you mean the vaccines which don’t prevent you getting Covid? The same vaccines that haven’t stopped millions getting Covid?Dave The Man wrote:Maybe because of the Vaccines Workingeddiesmith wrote:It's amazing, haven't had to wear a mask for months and despite Covid being more rampant than ever, still haven't caught it.

This, yes you still get covid, but you have way less chance of ending in hospital or dying! Last week I posted if I’m turning green before Anzac Day I won’t get a test, well I was turning green, took the test rather guiltily when I got home, all good!

With the cold weather coming and most restrictions gone, they're only going to keep going up. Hospitalisations have been gradually but steadily increasing again since early March, back up over 3K after being as low as 1600, and they are a lead indicator of deaths.
I wonder at what point the numbers will be high enough for Government(s) to reimpose some restrictions?

IF it gets that bad he might not have a Choice.stui magpie wrote:^
Hah, that will be a challenge for Dan, if the numbers in hospital look like overwhelming the system, again, or deaths reach UK levels, will he pull the trigger coming into an election?
Hope does not get that Bad.
He could Bring Restrictions in espically for Large Crowds and Inside Areas and not a Lockdown. Only way a Lockdown happens is the Shit hits the Fan
