I'm having trouble updating the old database, so I'm returning the board to you while I do abit of investigation.

I won't try again until next week.

Yes Charlie, and I was only 45 when Nick started the site as an 11 year old, I'm a lot older now and Nick's about to have his 40th.

.
Haa

Goodness, has it been 30 years ? my registration was reset for some reason, so I can't check exactly.

For others ... , we did offer fund raising way back then, but Mike didn't go for that, but he did set up Nicks email @magpies.net ? was it $25 ?

30 years.. how time flies.

Yep, 30 years next year. for the site The Bulletin Board is a couple of years younger.

Good old MagpieMail, never a success and not available to new users any more, but there are still a few old users hanging on.

Sorry, not yet. The new bulletin board software doesn't like the old database and the old bulletin board won't run under the new operating system.

I have to find a way to get the existing database running behind the new bulletin board or we'll have to archive it and start over. If we do that the board will be empty until it fills again and everyone will have to re-register - not the best outcome!

I'll do what I can to keep what we have.

I really hope you can sort the under the hood issues - i love this board, even though I rarely comment. it's one of the few forums from the good old days that still has a community feel.

If you guys need some $$$ I can make a contribution.

Your efforts are highly appreciated.

The footer has been broken. There is now some debug mode code at the bottom of each page.

Message_die() looks scary.
How would Siri know when to answer "Hey Siri" unless it is listening in to everything you say?

Fixed!

There will probably be a few system errors and occasional complete loss of the board from time to time, because I'm fiddling with the code trying to get the database into an upgradeable state.
