had a million things to say. Biting my lip now. I'm going to explode. Aaaaaarrrrrgh.....CHEATING YELLOW MAGGOTS
That was easily the WORST display of umpiring (could you call it that??) I have ever witnessed. Who was that fairy with the munted haircut that couldn't bounce on a trampoline? If he's not umpiring somewhere near the NSW border next week I'll go heave. And for those rolling their eyes at 'another whinger', check the threads, I have never sunk the boots in re umpiring. How could you give Harry a 50m penalty after what Frase went through earlier in the match TWICE? That decision was spiteful authoritarianism from a bloke who was obviously teased as a kid due to his groinular inadequacies.

My comments aren't prob very useful, footy wise or otherwise, and I'm hurting as much as everyone else. I'm more an emotional commentator, than technical. Had a few bevvies too Anyway, don't want to mention THAT bounce, coaching decisions or such stuff. So, for what it's worth, Josh, Medders, Rhyce, Dane, Leon, Wakes, Dids the tough cookie - well played boys. Hard game.

1. I thought Goldsack looked a bit rusty but to see him throw his body in after coming back from the broken nose was good.
2. Medders................ gun !! (Chris who ???)
3. Didak busted his butt and ok the last shot at goal nearly made the entire Ponsford Stand cry but he did a great job !!
4. Fraser, best game (I think) in a long time.
5. Rhyse Shaw was carving them up in the first half then from where I was sitting looked like he got moved !?
6. Looks like Penders is getting back to form; it will never cease to amaze me how he looks like he's got all the time in the world !?
7. O'Bree, sorry gang.......... I reckon he needs a spell in the two's. Softer than a new born babies butt !!
8. I agree that Reid doesn't look quite right yet, bit more time in the two's.
9. Dont' think I'll ever understand the rotations.
10. Leon, great effort and what an excitement machine !!
11. We really missed the hardness of Burnsy in the middle (anyone got the knowledge of cloning ???)
I'll be down at Frankston tomorrow to watch the two's and can't wait to see how they'll go and hopefully will see one or two of them on Anzac Day.
Send out the positive vibes people, the fella's need it !!!

How good was Pendles' evasion on the Ponsford end 50. He evaded about 3 or 4 Roos, and just slotted to a forward (can't remember who). He is back to his best, but went missing in the last just like almost everyone else. I love him though.
Alan Didak is an absolute STAR. 26 kicks? That's amazing. I'm so stoked about Fraser too. He is so good when he is "on". Medhurst... gun.

Yeah, the interchanges...thats what killed us.
Gimme a damn break. Is it interchanges that makes a guy like Didak miss crucial goals? Does having a spell on the bench make Heater give away goals.
Interchanges are what is allowing guys like Didak to get TWENTY NINE touches. He doesn't have a big tank, so playing him in bursts helps everyone. What should we do instead...run our guys into the ground playing them every minute just so we can pretend we have a midfield we dont?
Once again we were lazy and sloppy, and thats why we lost. That a damn little maggot who bounces worse than me. Reminded me so much of last years game against North, with both sides looking lethargic and pathetic.
Heres another reason:
Didak 68%
Rocca 66%
Johnson 66%
Reid 60%
H.Shaw 66%
Fraser 66%
R.Shaw 69%
Obree 61%
Cloke 69%
Just not damn good enough to be using the ball that poorly in what appeared to be dry conditions.

The Roos missed a lot of easy shots on goal which might have made this look a lot worse. Still, thats footy.
What is NOT footy is having the game stripped from you by dodgy umpiring. The bounce, the treatment of Fraser compared to NM players and simple things like letting them play on without without going behind their mark.
One more gripe. Those Roos play dirty. A lot of biff went unremarked by those with whistles and yet our injury toll goes up.

No video in London, but from the radio it seemed to me that we lost because we had too many players out of form, we are lacking the tackling intensity we had last year and we turned it over too often.
No answers, but a few possibilities :
1. With Rusling gone, Rocca makes us very one-dimensional ... The variety that Rusling gave us late last year seemed to me one of the things that carried us far in the finals. It feels as though opposition teams know where we are going to go and use a crowded-out Rocca as a springboard, a bit like the dying days of Brian Taylor before Matthews switched Gavin Brown to FF. Is it worth trying Trav as a leading FF and Josh at CHF ? Or Nathan Brown as a longer-term forward play ?
2. The backline looks light-bodied and light on experience to me and frankly I thought North's forwards exposed it a bit today. If they'd kicked straight we'd have been out of it earlier. Presti ?
3. Holland tries hard but lacks the skills and pace as a mid. He might be worth retaining up forward if it frees Davis for the midfield some more.
4. None of the above will help unless we get our tackling intensity and foot skills back. I guess that's a coaching issue.
Medhurst and Josh and Dids and Racer were all great today - good to have some positives at least...
We are not bad, as both North and Brisbane are good teams and we have nearly beaten them despite having a lot of players down. We have a lot of improvement in us - but the year looks less rosy than it did ...

Here's how I saw it:
- I thought Clarke was much better today, his attack on the ball and man was impressive. Disposal still not as sharp as 07 but is getting there.
- R.Shaw was very, very good and seems to get better with every game. He's becoming a very damaging player.
- Medhurst and Didak were sensational, just a pity Didak missed that goal but heh it'll only serve to fire him up for the Anzac Day game.
- Pendlebury is rapidly discovering his 07 form and looked really good tonight, should make a telling contribution over the next couple of months.
- Josh had his best game, by far, for a while and if he can hold that form will end up being a top 5 ruckman for the 08 season.
- Goldsack was hard at the contest and with more time on the field will rediscover his form rapidly.
- Reid looked off the pace, but with Rusling out is needed in the forward line. Needs more weeks at AFL level so he can tap into his amazing potential. Once he does he could dominate, in bursts.
- (this is a positive) Even with Cloke and Rocca having a minimal impact on the game the Pies still should have won that game. If those two click the Pies will be virtually impossible to stop.
Changes I would like to see next week would be:
Burns for Holland
Cox for Wakelin, and
Maxwell (was only a one week suspension, right? If not then Cook) for Johnson.
Burns and Maxwell set the tone for intensity and with both out, at times, you noticed that was lacking.
Would also like to see Brown go to full back, HO move to CHB and Cox take HO's spot in the backline. Also i'm hoping over the coming months to get a look at Wellingham, Cook, and Dawes.

Just one of those days things worked against us. Top game between two top 8 teams, guys, some people need to chill. Simply rolled us when it counted, even if a decision or two worked against us.
I'm a fan of O'bree but the time has come and he's got to go. Whoever said Wood is the new Fanning can absolutely go and sh-- themselves. The boy is going to be a ripper.
Positives - Fraser had to produce a good one; Didak is really finding his feet in the midfield; Browny keeps rolling along and building; Rhys Shaw is the biggest improver at the club.
