The Blues will be a tough nut to crack for us this week
You could see with the Blues game plan against St Kilda, the first thing Ratten made them do is go back to Tempo footy. 80 more possessions than the previous week.
The worst thing to happen for Carlton, from a long-term perspective, is
Getting rid of Pagan with 6 games to go because Carlton will win another game this year and miss draft concessions.
Players like Whitnall and Fev, all of a sudden have a lot to play for, as does a new coach. Lance will come back next week, in All-Australian form with 18 marks a game, and mark my words. He has lost about 8 kgs in the last month. There is certainly the good Whitnall and the bad Whitnall and the shame is that it takes a major event for him to pull his digit out and get to the position he should be which is fit and firing. We have seen it the previous three years where they have had to ship him off to a fat farm to get him right because he buggers around and doesn't give 100% in keeping himself fit. That is why the decision to make him captain was a bit "iffy" not because of his heart or his leadership.

Don't think the crowd will be that great. Showers are forecast for Saturday and the scum supporters wont want to come because they will be tortured by the fact that they will be secretly barracking for the Pies so as not to lose their priority pick.
Very surprised if Shaw is not a late inclusion. Do not need all of Presti, Wakelin, Clement and Goldsack for this game.

We should not be resting players this week. We are not secured in the top 8 yet, and have a chance to crack top 4, and we have just come off a 93 point drubbing. Our best side should be picked and we should aim to make up the percentage here.
One backman has to go, surely this will happen. Wakes or Harry would be my suggestions. Harry is a yard slower since his return, and he doesnt have the confidence or strength in his shoulder to spoil. He has been found out in the past month since his return. With Maxwell in defense, and the return of Clement, we are well served down back.
The only reason i can think of for having such a tall defence is that we are still not sure on whether Clement will be ready to go on saturday, so we have named 5 and will drop 1 on match day

There's more to life than footy.........just not much more.

At least 1 late change.
Bet carlton risk it all, play down the guts long, play on and push players back at every chance. We need to do the same and start playing like we are a top 4 side and burry them with quick ball movement up the middle and long to the big fellas. They will beat us if we dont smash them in the first 2 qtrs, they will only need one sniff and our finals are over!
