The first half was great, but in the second half very disappointing, we looked flat and tried. Rocca needs to go back to Kicking lessons. Leon Davis played really well kicking that goal outside 50. I heard Mick Malthouse had gave a big spray at Chris Bryan at three qtr time. Also i was listening to Triple M coming back home and Jason Dustall did the votes for worst on field and give 3 votes to Health Shaw. What the Hell!!!.
Also who will be coming back in next week Medhurst has to be back in, he has been out for 5 weeks, Lonie, Licca, Clement????

Never like losing but saw a lot to like. Goldsack didn't look out of place and did some nice things, as did Toovey. Pendles and Harry excelled. Also liked Dick's game. Did a lot of little things like chasing and putting pressure on the backs really well and has that touch of class with his ball use. Also good to see T. Cloke running hard and straight at a ball that was up for grabs a couple of times, where earlier i the year he might not have (amazing what confidence will do).

Have read a couple of posts giving Dids a bake. FFS it's his third game back from a knee reco. Use your brains.

Debutant Tyson Goldsack hit the ground running. Although spending a significant amount of time on the pine he still managed 6 kicks, 6 handpasses, 2 Marks and 3 Tackles and was very accountable. He hit targets, was creative and seem to work extremely will with Scott Pendlebury. What was best of all is his physical presence. Tyson is a giant of boy and when he fills out will be a fantastic key position player for us.

It was a terrible loss for so many reasons, but this kid did us all proud. With the rainbow of young talent we have gathered togthered, perhaps Tyson is the sack of gold at the bottom.

back to earth: and perfect timing too. At half time my mind was starting to look towards September. and even the last Saturday in September. We have a long way to go. The Dogs are ahead of us in their quest for Glory no doubt. But we arent far behind and when we start kicking straight, God help the opposition. Goldsack's debut was a big positive today as was the continuing development of Harry and Pendles.

Late in the game I realised that Jimmy and Bucks were missing and I hadn't even worried about that in the lead-up. Shows me the awesome depth that Mick is building at lexus.

Plenty more ups and downs to come for us in season 2007 and plenty more exiciting youngsters to debut. Cant help but be pumped about that.

A very winnable game that we let slip with a little help from the ump.

Terrific first half by the boys where we run and chased them down out of our fwd line. Unfortunately the kids could not keep the intensity up and guys like Toovey, Pendles, Thomas etc went missing in the second half.

The Hahn free proved the turning point but misses by Rocca, H.Shaw Johno and Dick did not help at all (all should have been kicked). MM was right - we waste the footy in front of goal. Poor skill errors by the likes of Dutchy also were critical. Sides the Bullies play on confidence and you just need to nail them when you can.

By 3/4 time the game was over. We had no run left which is fair enough with the kids we have. But it was some of the oldies like Didak, Holland, Swan, Davis who also went missing when it counted.

Not to be to critical but a couple of blokes struggling at moment - Johnson and OBree could be a lot better. He really needs to learn to put his head over the footy.

Best for me: Fraser, Pendlebury, Lockyer, Burns, Cloke

PS It still kills me we let Scotland go!

A timely reality check- J Clement, N Buckley, Cox and Medhurst in asap please.

It is essential that we see either Reid or Brown in before the end of the season- we need key forwards that can kick.

Bucks will be a huge plus up forward as he will drill any opportunities and Medhurst is an ESSENTIAL if we are to capitalise on the hard work up the ground.

Wouldnt be upset to see Wellingham get a run neither- we need some silk out there to finish off.

Dogs are a very good side- hope our kids learnt plenty today.

Strange sensation leaving that game today. Disappointed to lose (why does everyone spell it loose as in loose change??) .. but saw enough in the first half to know we're headed in the right direction.

Couldn't help but feel the senior players let us down today. Rocca's shot on goal just after the Dogs took the lead for the first time was crucial. It would have put us back in front, perhaps to 3/4 time. Instead it was swept away and from memory 30 seconds later they were out to a 10 or 11 point lead.
What do you do with a guy that is a critical cog in the forward line (and leadership group) but continually butchers the ball.

Dunno what everyone else thinks but it seems that both Heater and Rhyce seem considerably slower the past two weeks. Are their opponents just being upgraded since they started to star or are they feeling the pinch fitness wise?

Goldsack looked a little lost early but found his footing. Seems to have sweet skills like Pendles and Dick.

Holland... hmm.. just doesn't seem to be up to speed at the moment. Did a couple of good things but perhaps needs a spell in the seconds?

Dids ... MIA today. I've watched him fairly closely at times last week and this. It almost seems like something is not right, like he's not prepared to test a calf or hammy out ... or it could just be his knee.

Bloody goal kicking... arrrrggggghhhh... is it their boots? is it their head? I just don't understand how a player of Rocca's calibre can't at least kick through the ball. At least if he was missing but kicking the ball nicely (like his brother) we'd know he only has to get his radar working. As it stands now it's just looking through your fingers stuff. And what's really perplexing... he still kicked three!

Hmmm .... bring on the ferals from up north. Come on Pies.. crucial game this week

To me Holland & Dids are looking probably a bit like most of the other players did in their second & third game for the season, it's just more noticable because the majority of the team has played up to 10 games (including pre-season). They'll improve. It's probably worth having them in because of the magic Dids creates and in Hollands case he's one of your classic hard nut players, and in a young team it can be useful to have that sort of player in the side (I know Burns is that sort of player to but another one can't hurt).

I was impressed with Goldsack's first game (can you believe people at Big Footy are wanting to drop him). Dick, Pendles & O'Brien are constantly improving, Travis Cloke is starting to really be figuring out the CHF position. He didn't have as many shots on goal as last week but seemed to kicking a lot more accurately so that is a good sign.

Not to fussed at losing this one. The Dome is not the ground to play the Dogs on for our first outing there. Good teams bounce back and we are heading to gods waiting room to play the bears this week. Big win there will put us back up the ladder.
