With no Clement, who will get the task?

Many will suggest Heath Shaw, but Johnson will try pull him back to the goal square to remove Heath's running off the half back line.

Harry is the only possible suggestion. He's good in the air, and very quick off the mark.

However, what about plan b? What if Harry doesn't work out.

By all reports, Goldsack was close to best on ground again yesterday, so if he were to get a game, he may very well find himself on Johnson.
Toovey could be another option.
Maxwell?
Smart thinking.

Yes, a lot to atone for after last year's (all too short) finals series.

More than just four points to play for this week...

I like Stui's gameplan too!

To have a shoot out or not to have a shoot out. That is the question?

If our normal game plan doesn't work first up, I'd agree that a flooding type game plan, and give our height its chance to dominate as suggested earlier.

Harry O for Johnson.

Harry should take Johnson. Long kicks into our forward line will expose their lack of height. We need a big win this week. I'm getting a little weary of all the come from behind close finishes. Davis and Medhurst must come in, and I'd drop Iles and Wakelin. I predict we will smash the doggies by 85 points.

Like the gameplan but if the doggies play us as they did in the QF we wont smash them by 85. Their halfbackline was excellent and their midfield pressured us all day long. We need to win our fair share of the ball in the centre and hit Trav Fraz and Ant regularly if we are going to smash them. Be interesting how MM is going to tactically aproach this game I am sure they will have learnt.

In: Goldsack, Davis
Out: Iles, Dick

This looks like what will happen. This will be a tight contest. We need to have O'Brien do with JOhnson what he did with Lucas and Johnson and Holland to blanket Cross and West.
YEAH!

Last time Rocca played at the dome he kicked one goal against west coast. The game at the dome before that he kicked none versus the saints.

If we try to beat 'em with pace we will lose. Chip kicking does not work either. After the 1st quarter in the Final this is what we did and lost miserably. They have pace and that is their advantage. The Demons exposed that last week and ran with 'em pretty well but in the end the Doggies ran out better with their leg speed.

Our mids should be told kick it long into forward line get our small crumbers to the drop and the rest of the midfiled create a wall across the ground about a kick back, and the rest man up.

Head to head Stats 2007:
Kicks: Doggies 1423 (9th) Pies 1586 (1st)
Marks: Doggies 758 (6) Pies 804 (3)
HBall: Doggies 1037 (4) Pies 809 (15)
Disp: Doggies 2460 (4) Pies 2395 (8th)
Goal : Doggies 98 (4) Pies 89 (10)
Behinds: Doggies 79 (12) Pies 104 (3)
Tackles: Doggies 364 (8th) Pies 396 (2)
FR/For: Doggies 123 (13) Pies 130 (10)
FR/Against : Doggies 153 (1) Pies 121 (14)
Head to head: Western Bulldogs 39 wins, Collingwood 99 wins, 1 draw.

Goal Conversion ratios: Doggies 55% Pies 46%

Really with the amount of ball we get inside 50 and if we had of kicked straighter lately our offence would be in the top 4. If we blow chances by kicking to many behinds we will lose this game, because the doggies are pretty accurate.
Here is an idea maybe the cheer squad can make up a sign to hold up behind the Goals for Rocca and Trav, when taking set shots.

On one side: 'ROCCA KICK IT TO ME'
On the other Side: 'TRAV KICK IT TO ME'

And put a mole at the other end of the ground with a sign as well so we cover both ends of the ground.
Because maybe they will learn that way to kick through the Goals and not at the goals like they currently are.
All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

I reckon we should put our own B.Johnson on the Doggies B.Johnson, give him some responsibilty as he has just been running around like a headless chook lately... unless of course he is carrying an injury then we may be forced to give Harry first crack

You're probably right. Not sure why I'm thinking that.
