Checking the form lines - things don't look so bad for the Pies. Pies take the game right up to West Coast on their home turf, Carlton beat Essendon, then get flogged by the West Coast.

Lets pretend we didn't play on a wet track and the Bombers didn't have a chip it around breather in the last 1/4 of their last game.

There is word that Fletcher has a busted rib and will miss. Could be BS but would be very handy.

Clement has dismissed suggestions key players will be under a fitness cloud going into Wednesday's Anzac Day blockbuster against Essendon. This includes Thomas, Burns and Presti. But confirms Bucks wont play.

Do you think that this is probably true seeing as its come from good authority, i mean, Jimmy is a pretty honest fellow isn't he? :)

haha too right. warms the heart really. he won't retire until seasons end at least. He owes himself (and us for that matter) a proper send off. not just one of those 'come back in for one game even though im badly injured' last games.

If the quality of the article is anything to go by I would say it is not worth much. "According to Clement, midfielder Paul Licuria will be the only player to miss the AFL match, which is expected to draw up to 80,000." Really? Only up to 80,000? I would be stunned if it was less than 80,000.

lol true. but there are always high expectancies at ANZAC day games and the crowd always seems to be a bit of a disappointment. I hope the article is credible. if not, we are screwed.

I don't think thomas will play, Burns is more of a chance of getting up. We really need presti, wakes on lloyd is already scaring me.
Both came back on, so I'd assume both should come up.
I'm worried about Presti on Lloyd
We'll have to set up with Clement on Lucas, Wakelin on Lloyd, and Maxwell on Johns. Perhaps that's why Reid may get an early call up to tackle a monster down back. Although doesn't Maxy have a good record on Wakes?
It is definitely my opinion that Toovey and Cox will definitely not be dropped. That is a statement of fact.
Agree, we gotta keep some kids in, although I think Dick should be dropped to hit restart with Williamstown. Toovey, I think, is set for a big one, and we need his speed off halfback.

In terms of form, our worst match was against the Kangas and we still fell over the line. Honestly, take our our last 15 minutes against the Power and we're chugging along ok. Opinions about us have changed. Speaking to a few today, we are no longer a bottom four chance, but more so borderline (6th-10th) as I too have been thinking. As Mike Sheehan wrote in the HS' preview of C'wood a month ago, next year, regardless, will be an improvement on this year, and I totally agree.

But quite frankly I cbf waitining for 2008. Gimmie a flag now!
This includes Thomas, Burns and Presti.
So Presti's half a chance? It'd be lovely if he can get up.

*Apologises we have been watching the Shawshank redemption at school this term.

We've been good so far this year - our worst was vs north and we still got over the line. we had our feet on port for all bar the 3nd half of the last quarter. yes, we let it slip, but we there are still positives.

the injuries will hurt - no presti, no licca, no bucks and no holland. with jonno, dale and ssb under the injury pump it doesn't sound good.

but when you stand there with 22 of your closest mates in the Black and White jumper in front of 100,000 spectators as the last post is played, if you cannot play at 110% then you never will. i'd love the chance to do it, it won't happen, but for some of these guys, such as iles, bryan, reid and those who have rarely played, it may spur them on to greater heights.

yes, clutching at straws, but surely on a day like Anzac Day you can pull something special from nowhere. hey, hirdy and mcgough have been doing it for years.

shut down lucas, play through peverill's opponent and try and outrun them (imo toovey is set for a big one). who knows? i always go into matches expecting a win, even in 1998-1999. Go Woods.

Clement said that Presti hasn't trained as per usual until the last training session before the game which will be tomorrw. So we will know then, but he didn't leave the ground on Saturday did he? Hopefully he can get up, but he usually takes a while to recover :(

Report from Nine's 4.30pm news for what it's worth:

Lica definitely to miss, Presti very unlikely to play.

Burns and Thomas look like they will play and Didak looks set to return.

They then showed the quote from Clement about not taking injured players into the match.

For Essendon Jetta very doubtful. Nine is reporting hamstring soreness for Hille so he is also unlikely, and Hird will depend on how he pulls up with the quick turnaround.

Burns, Thomas, Presti

Will all play, according to both our skipper Nathan Buckley and our captain for the day James Clement.

All three have been said to have looked unlikely yesterday but got through todays session and look set to play.
For me if all 3 play and a return of Didak, get your money on the pies. Bucks sounded as confident as I have ever heard him.

When he asked what chances to Collingwood have on Anzac Day?

He replied very confidently A huge chance, he then went onto explain there would be many excuses that we could use if we lose, but we wont.

Heard Geoff Walsh this morning -
Pretty much said that Thomas and Burns right to play and very likely to bring in Didak for Wednesday...

Presti still a chance as well, but Likka most certainly out
