I was wondering the same thing about the CS. Didn't look like there were many people down there.

Cox was good - he probably needs to go a bit harder at times - he looks a little lazy which is completely difft to when I have seen him at Willi.

Outs for this week

Richards, Dick, Toovey (would be unlucky) or Davis

Ins

Bryan, Didak, Medhurst

Toovey would be very unlucky indeed. I thought he was actually better this week than last week.

Bryan for Richards should be the obvious one, apart from that our injury list will play a big role in who goes out.

I don't think you could drop Toovey either. Wakelin would have to be an in for next week, with Loyd and Lucas in the form they are in.

Big T wrote:According to SEN Cox was very good and they are predicting big things, that is great to hear as its not often they jump on a relatively unknown like that, The Ox in particular thinks he will be very special.

So surely on todays performance with that description he will retain his spot this week, and stats show he improved, comments anyone?
He had a solid second game no star though like some are trying to turn him into already , toovey attacked the ball very well imo had a better game than last week even though he didnt kick the goals mainly due to the fact he played in the middle.

I would suggest they may get a rest purely to look after them after that game it was quite a taxing game to back up in 4 days is asking a bit at that lvl.

wouldnt be suprised to see another debute com e ANZAC day mm loves showing new talent off on the big games.

Dont want to make judgements here but the Port CS were all out in the rain and made some noise - just would have thought seeing as it was our home game against an interstate side that there would have been more of a presence.....

comments after port loss

Post by orie »

What a drainer of a day. I feel exhausted having sat through that wet weather game.Imagaine how the players feel. They looked stuffed in that last quarter. I think they overused the ball early and turned the ball over too much. What else is new? There was a lot of presure and tackling by both sides but I felt we went unrewarded for the effort. However some of the poor kicking e.g. kicking to the opposition in open space was a worrying sign. Davis at one point in the 3rd tried to be too cutsey with the ball. Clement made too many uncharacteristic errors and you don't often see Presti kick the ball out of bounds. Port used the ball better and some BAD umpiring decisions were shockers. Tough day for the boys but the effort was certainly there.
And all through this all I could hear was the POWER cheersquad. There they were behind the goals in the rain. So where was OUR cheersquad today?

What!! Cloke didnt improve today. I thought he was even worse than last week.

I cant wait to see Cloke get up and running, but he looks as though (at least to me) he is confused sometimes and doesnt know where to be or what to do.

He needs to learn to use his body and throw his weight around. But he doesnt. He seems to be timid. I know that we all have high hopes for the boy, but he needs some confidence.

Im not bagging the kid, because he does have a very big season ahead of him, I just hope he gets it together and soon. Maybe a run with the Seagulls might get his confidence up. I dont know, its just a suggestion.

The only thing that really disappointed me, was there was so many times that our kicking went over the head of Rocca today, when he should have been hit right on the chest. If we had of done that a bit better, I think we would have won by a fair margin.

Our cheersquad were there soaking wet sitting in the bloody rain all day congrats to all in the cheersquad wonderful job!

Dale Thomas on track to his first Brownlow medal.

Shannon Cox best on ground by a mile.

The umpiring was bloody pathetic and not consistent for wet weather football.

In all i was proud of the boys today for having a red hot go in very trying circumstances...Go you mighty magpies!!!
