I have a recollection of a Friday night reserves Granny that we one, back in the late seventies. Anyone remember that?On the March wrote:Actually you need to explain that MB. Stui has nailed it. The VFL of 2016 is the old VFA, which we left at the end of 1896 to form what was then the VFL, which today is the AFL.On the March wrote:Actually you need to explain that MB. So, our VFL reserves premiership of 1976 is completely separate.
The flag we won with Williamstown in 2003 is credited to Williamstown. They made use of our players to win it, but it doesn't belong to us.
As such, Collingwood has not won a flag as Collingwood in this particular competition since 1896.

It counts alright, but not in this particular context.Bruce Gonsalves wrote:Are you telling me that all the hard work done by Ronnie Richards amounts for nothing? Past VFA flags count, VFL and VFL reserves flags don't.

Dave always camps behind the benches with mattys123.KenH wrote:My wife and I were on the fence further along the wing from Stui!
I went for a walk to see if I could find any familiar faces but didn't see anyone.
DTM not there? Didn't see him and most obviously didn't hear him so assume he wasn't there?

Caff had a lot of tackles looking at the stats, alot of his disposals were short and in the hand-to-hand combat arena. For mine the gamebreakers were Williams and Wills, Phillips was a conduit between attack and defense and Crocker was the target up front. Pendlebury stepped up to hold the backs together after Frost went down.RudeBoy wrote:It's interesting that both Mr Bat and Cam listed Wills as one of the best couple of players, yet the CFC doesn't mention him at all. According to the CFC, Caff was clearly BOG. Go figure.
Get back on top.

Yeah saw that, and that's another thing I like about the guy, he's not afraid to give a serve to an individual, or the group when needed.BBHS wrote:Anyone else here Tapping lose his shit in the third quarter Was absolutely giving it to someone over the phone to the bench.
Several times this year he's really laid into the group in full view of us fans at the quarter or 3/4 time huddles.
I like it, enough of this PC, leading teams bullshit, if a player or team is under-performing, yell at them, they are grown men. And they need to be motivated sometimes.
Tapping also makes moves that most senior coaches (not just a shot at Buckley this) never make.
On Saturday you could see Oxley was ineffective as a forward, yet straight after half time Ox is at half back and had a massive influence on the game after that.
We won't have Tapping as our VFL coach after next season (when his contract runs out) he's just too good to be just a VFL coach.
