Positives from the game:

- We can still get a top 4 berth
- Our skills were much better

Negatives:

Just finished watching the replay. Wow, what a game!

Great to see the big fella back kicking goals. Captaincy always brings out the best in him. Maybe a thought for next year. Could do for Pebs what it's done for Barry Hall.

Highlights:-

- Burnsy busting through the pack in the middle of the heat in Q2.
- Didak comes of age...........again
- Swanny, OB, Licca & Johnno great all day
- Rhyce coming back to his best and offering something extra to the midfield.
- Egan & Rusling showing heaps of potential
- some of the 'roars' during the game
- listening to BT and the gang's commentary; they were brilliant today.

If we can get Bucks, Taz, Leon & Daisy back into that team in the finals, then we can give it a shake!
Hearing the 'Black & White Army' roar is the greatest sound in the world.

Just home, with my attendance/win record still intact for the season!

Gees, we made hard work of that! Early on, it looked like Malted Milkshake had made a monumental error leaving Jason Cloke out; Carlton were ripping us a new one out of the centre and bombing it long to tall forwards. Presti just ain't quick enough to hold Fevola and it took all of three quarters before Jimmy went on him, whereupon Carlton didn't score another goal!

Were it not for Dids' centimetre perfect hip 'n shoulder turning a flashy, well-drilled Carlton side into something resembling a rabble, we weren't going to win that. Richards, for all that some people think him a quality tap ruckman, was murdered in the middle and we looked good only when Fraser went there. Mediocre performances in the middle where it counted from some key smalls - Licca, O'Bree, Dutch - made us look slow and tired.

Once Dids turned the game around, we stopped buggerising around and went long and direct, bombing it to Rocca who marked virtually everything which came his way.

And, in all honesty, we benefited enormously from some controversial decisions resulting in goals from a trio of umpires who, IMO, came within a hair's breadth of losing control of that match in the 2nd quarter. The game has been sanitised almost to death and they just couldn't cope with the sudden rush of adrenaline and passion from the players. Which, I must say, was a pleasure to see, so rare has it become. So, too must most of the Ponsford Stand, which started roaring like I haven't heard in two seasons there. It was Vic Park reincarnated for a while there!

Eventually, blokes like Johnno, Dids, Swannie, Heater, Racer, Burns and Lonie started moving the ball straight out of the backline down the wings to the forward line and we looked very good. Kudos to Pebbles for a welcome return to form and to Fraser for a terrific performance both in the middle and up forward. Gees, this bloke is good below the knees for a big man! Wraps for Travis Cloke, who looked very very good until he went off with a shoulder injury. He, too, was marking everything which came his way.

But, you just couldn't go past the irrepresible Dids on the day. It's taken a few years for him to consistently display his talent but this has been a breakout year for him. And I just wholeheartedly love his aggression and hardness at the ball, whilst not losing one iota of his silky ball-handling skills. He can turn on a sixpence and drop the ball straight down a leading forward's throat! And he's not backward in letting the opposition know about it when he gets under their skin. We need more of it.

Sadly, I think we also saw the last of Julian Rowe; he just didn't get into it today. Maybe he'll get one last chance next week (I hope so) and, if he does, it will truly be his last chance, so he'd better show all he's got.

apart from Carlton tanking it was the best game I went to all year.

I guess they want BG pretty bad.

Today reminded me how much I hate these scumbags.

I was thinking the same thing. If Didak hadn't have gone through with that bump, then I reckon we we might have been in for a drubbing. We focused, and the scum lost the plot.

Am I right in thinking that its the first time that we have beaten the Blues twice in a season since 1990?

There's an omen.

Very disappointing to me were Rowey and Isles. I think Rowey may have played his last game while Isles just isn't ready yet.

Welcome back DT and Pendles next week......
Go you good thing!

Can we invite Whitnall to training with us for the finals?
He brings Rocca back into Form every time..

Pretty average game, I will take the four points but nothing to get excited about.

And with C1 injured, he'd be very handy at CHF!

That was an exciting game to be at!!! Pretty good effort all round i think from most of the boys including; Jimmy, Johnson, Burns, Holland, Fraser [the only ruckman on the day that was winning taps i thought!!!], Heath, Swan, Rocca, Didak......

Rhyce: Great to see the boy starting to hit his straps!.... handy to have him in full flight from now on!!

I saw the replay last nigh...was an excellent game right throughout and the boys wanted to win more than the bloos.
Excepting for the 'bloodshed' was excellent and fast.
If the rest of them want to see the best in the PIES for 2006 then I believe that this is what they will get.
Excellent fast game and the better side won on the day.

Great to beat the scum twice in the same year. Great to award them the spoon yet again.

Swanny goes from strength to strength, really is one of our top flight now. Good to see Roids maintain his form throughout the year. The Rus doesn't get much of it but is very effective when he does and will only get better and better. Ego continues to get better and impress.

Richrds and Rowe a still a worry.

Dids bump, fair hip and shoulder or not, will almost certainly go for head high contact that can be deemed extreme. It is getting so hard these days to lay a good old fashioned hip and shoulder because any contact with the head, incidental or not, and you are in strife (almost certainly get a holiday).

Trav out even for a week is a real shame as he was really starting to find his feet and gain confidence in the big show.

Bux back, Taz maybe
