I voted No, not because I know anything but because I'd be extremely surprised.

I think a Tom Boyd situation will result.

No hard feelings from my perspective. Shit happens.

So far, of the people who have a view about this in the poll, 4 out of 5 say he won’t play again.

The decision to take Beams back was typical of Collingwood's often too sentimental traits regarding past players. We did so well in the trade when he left and we have undone all those positives by taking him back.
I am sure that my view is unpopular but I never felt that Beams provided much for us in the big matches. Go back and look at the stats in the big finals of 2010 Beams was left wanting.
This sort of mentality will hinder Collingwood's ability to truly shine until we become as clinical and calculated as Hawthorn. The Hawks would never have done this deal.

It's closer to 3 out of 5 now but the poll is pretty meaningless since nobody knows one way or the other. The only accurate poll response is Unsure

Trent Croad says, "Hi".

The Croad trade back was nothing like the Beams one.

"Hawthorn secured three draft selections, pick one, 20 and 36 after trading Trent Crowd and Luke McPharlin.

As it eventuated, pick one and 36 turned into Luke Hodge and Sam Mitchell, while Daniel Elstone was drafted with pick 20. ...

The icing on the trade cake occurred two years later, when Hawthorn favourite son Trent Croad returned home, before going on to help Hawthorn to the 2008 premiership."

The trade back was for pick 10, which Fremantle used to select Ryley Dunn. Croad was 23 years old when he was traded back.

Oh no we should have kept our picks and drafted 2 Daniel Elstones instead of Beams

Well, yes, probably.
