Why not roll the dice, if finally, Roughie comes back this week, why not put Moore up forward, do it one minute before the bounce, and take the Dogs by surprise. He can play forward, free him up a bit, get his confidence back, take a few grabs, not under the pressure to constantly mind his man, get his mojo back up forward, confidence back, it might just work wonders for him and for the team too.
Yep I can see McRae doing this.
From memory kicked 5 against the Bulldogs in his early days
Yep in his 3rd ever match but the goals dried up when the ball supply got progressively worse and did not help him.

Just leave him at CHB and make sure he has decent support.

He can do the occasional stint up forward as a swingman but it's just not his gig and the team is better with him down back.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Yep I hope the Magden haters here took note of that. He is a really useful ally in defence to run the ball out in conjunction with Noble. A vital component of our game plan to build attacks from the half back flanks.

Now that Moore has been idenfified, in The Age again today as with injuries, the major problem for our form drop, can we see if another club will take him off our hands at the end of the year? The problem is we might have to pay some of his salary. Graham Wright's head may have to roll over this contract unless he gets the de Goey situation right. We also have the problem of Grundy but Wrighty will not sink for that one.

If they waited on the Moore deal he would either have been contracted on low money or we could have forced a trade. We should stall on de Goey and Adams should never get another contract based on current form either. Anyone else think he looks banged up?

Does the article refer to what type of injuries ??
If the injuries have evolved from contact / impact type events, then that hardly makes his contract a mistake ( on an injury basis )
Happy to be corrected here but I don’t remember him being plagued with “ any “ soft tissue injuries since his time with healing Hans a number of years ago. Sometimes you can simply be banged up but still ok to play and having to suit up again after a number of consecutive six day breaks isn’t going to help anyone rehab properly.

I mean does Adams look banged up. Also the injuries referred to the team in general. Hence Moore and injuires are the root of our current problems. Adams being so poor is a separate matter and he looks a bit banged up to me.

Agree I thought we would have learnt from the Grundy deal I would have offered Moore 3 years max . He's too injury prone.

And he would have walked and so we would have got compensation which may be added to compensation for de Goey. It would have set up our future.

Moore is 60% the way through his career and has 1 All Australian and mostly injury interrupted seasons amidst some good football. Shall he become Ben Reid (injury affected, has peaked) or something more meaningful.

Ok, looking at the free agency there are no key forwards. Apparently there are 2 top 10 forwards in the draft, these guys would take years to develop.

We’re getting smashed by key forwards and our lack of.

Solution - Moore to move to FF permanently. It’s easier to play or find a key back rather than a forward. I don’t think we have another option.

Moore is getting killed each week, has he been worked out? If he is a third tall then let’s replace that and make him the main forward.

Can’t win the big games consistently without key forwards so why wouldn’t we play him there?

Because he’s not a key forward?

Mihocek was a full back.
Presti was a forward.
Shauble was a forward.
Howe was a forward.

Why can’t Moore be a forward if the above were recruited in opposite roles? What’s your alternative instead of just staying he’s not a forward?
He’s over 2 metres tall, athletic, good mark and the right age to play there IMO.

Billy Picken and Peter McCormack were recruited as forwards and ended up playing back. Play them in the positions where the selectors think they play best in.
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!

We are contemplating playing Moore ?

Post by princem007 »

I have a bad feeling about playing him… I’d give him the week rest to get his knee right , with Howe to come back we should be able to cover his absence for a week.

Thoughts ?

This quote is from the club website:

"Initial scans were positive and he was cleared of any major injury - his ACL, PCL and MCL are all completely fine.

He will be assessed at the backend of the week and our high performance team is hopeful he will be available to play this weekend.

While he completed pool work and gym on Monday, he will not train on Tuesday but will hopefully be on the track come Thursday."

Sounds quite incredible that he may play this week. This is great news that he is being considered. Means his injuries are not too bad. But, surely we would give him at least a week. Would we risk him against North?
