The few games I was able to attend this season showed me the same Matrix / Neo genius surrounded by young players and game plan buffoonery that forced his out of the ordinary turnovers.
What’s he worth? We are such a loyal club to our champions and Pendlebury has, as you say a genuine role to play. But when does a club who has butchered a mega allowance on player salaries in the past decide to have the tuff conversations with these club legends with only a season or two left? We need the older men with the ilk of Pendlebury to stay with us but never at excessive cost.
He’s been dealt a good hand and deservedly and he’s the only veteran I would keep on the books atm for a reduced price.

Injured Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury joined the Sunday Rub this afternoon ahead of the Pies game against Essendon.

Pendlebury is currently out of contract and was questioned about his situation.

He confirmed that he's only been tabled a one-year offer and is working through negotiations with the club.

Interestingly Pendlebury revealed that he would have to consider rival offers if they tied in a coaching role after his playing days.

"If they want to offer me future coaching gigs, for a couple of years time I'll have a look at it."

I don’t understand how footy players on BIG money for ten years or more are worried about financial security. What do they do with what they’ve earned?

Pendles can go if he wishes. He is a club legend, set in stone. Who can say the guy doesn't deserve a couple of years in the Sun at the Suns!.

Collingwood are not going anywhere next year, lets face facts. We will be better but not a top eight side.

So where is the harm in Pendles going?

We have been bloody good to him and he is saying he could consider other offers with longer terms? How dare he. I actually would have had him coaching instead of Mr exciting for 2021

I hope he goes. We cannot waste cap space on him. Go for a young gun mid or two by clearing our pendles and sidey. Asap.
