We were so dumb to treat 18yos as seasoned veterans in the year he got drafted. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb!! This was even the case after we caused Freeman to rip his hammy off the bone just one year prior......
I'm glad we did with j stephenson
no second chances

that's the point dude. We didn't do it with him. Every player now gets a personalized pre season training plan to match the number of years they have been at the club!!! whereas the older guys can flog themselves to build a strong base, the likes of Stevo, had a modified training program to match the fact that they have never done an AFL pre season. Worked well, don't you think? while he looked haggard at times (and didn't have the tank to play in the midfield), he got through a full season of footy.

I think Darcy needs to work on his head space as much as his hamstring issues. Only Darcy can do this. It's up to him.

You seem very hard on Darcy Rudeboy. It comes across as disproportionate to my way of thinking about an impressive young man who has had terrible injury issues so far in his career.

The notion of "It's up to him" can be applied to all people all of the time.My post or OP was that I really wish him well this year given his awful experience of injuries so far. I'm sure you do too. It seems puzzling that you appear to be quite hard on him.

There was a Dees player in 1982 called David Cordner (son of legend Dennis Cordner). By 1987 the Coodabeen Champions used to refer to him as "promising, promising and still promising"!

Hopefully Moore doesn't end up the same way.
