We need to construct a side that kicks enough, defends enough and tags well enough. Captain Obvious, I know but lets learn the following three things from the Dees game:

1. Frampton and Markov: never play forward again
2. Howe: given Dees weak forward line, play Jeremy forward
3. Crisp: tag Petracca and learn from the Bont (lack of tag) error.

Team:

B: Quaynor Frampton Dean
HB: Maynard Moore Noble
C: Jaicos Mitchell Steele
HF: McCreery Kreuger Schultz
F: B Hill McInnes Howe
F: Cameron Crisp Naicos
F: Harrison, WHE, Sullivan, Lipinski
Sub: Markov

Ins:

Mitchell (hopefully)
WHE
McInnes
Kreuger

Outs:

Bytel
Parker
Johnson
Macrae

Win this huge match, with a bit of a cobbled team, by any margin, and our season is right back on track, with Norf and Bye too come. Lose and we are right back in the pack, just hope post Bye we get back some senior soldiers, and go from there, but it will be tough. Win, and I think we can, and its a real bonus for the season to play out.

Melbournes form revolves around Gawn and his ability to get the first use of the ball. The upside of this is he’s currently running on 1 leg (injured calf) and Freo showed his biggest weakness is to be roughed up at stoppages. He doesn’t like the physical side of the contest.
For that reason I believe Krueger is a must just for his physical attributes.
There defence was ripped apart by high pressure and tackling resulting in hacked kicks out and turnovers.
We need to bring our maximum pressure forward.
Hoping WHE McInnes and Mitchell are right his week. We need an injection of experience and some fresh legs.
The 10 day break will be invaluable as well give us time to freshen up some tired legs.

With the disappointing news of Jamie then Lache Shultz needs to build on his improving form
As Bruzzy says “We take the next man up approach “

The news is re:Jamie and his foot, not Schultz

^ thanks. Re-read the sentence and that makes complete sense...

I think Joe Richards can have a part to play as a small forward too (once fit), although a more representative replacement for Elliott while he's out is a cross between McReery, WHE and Schultz (and they dont grow on trees).

I wish you wouldn't hold back on what you think
He wasn't the only one thinking that; May has an excuse for everything.

I'd play Kruger [or Frampo] on him, even as a defensive forward.
Without Lever down there, we won't have a better opportunity to decimate their backline.

However if I see Frailey Bitsch and his stupid private schoolboy stackhat haircut running around kicking goals out of his arse again, I WILL kick the **** IN!

And that’s putting it mildly mate. I have words that are more extreme, ones I used to write regularly in the old days (and receive warnings from the mods!) but these days I have mellowed somewhat
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️

Slightly more confident we WONT lose by 100+.
Freo are not a bad side. The toffs don’t like the heat. Unfortunately it will be a cold winters day.

Out: Johnson
In: Krueger (for a qtr)

Then yeah NFI we have players back?

WHE for Bytel maybe? That’s two upgrades and that’s probably it.
The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.
