Geelong have put their foot on the throttle and had 8 scoring shots to 2 so far in the third quarter. Unfortunately for them, it's been 1.7 to 1.1, so they lead by 8 behinds (or 8 points - in this case, either is correct). 6.13 to 6.5. Riveting stuff, I expect.

At the third change, the Cats lead 6.14 to 6.5.

At half-time in the meaningless exhibition game, St Kilda trails Hawthorn by 5 points.

Geelong are now 11 kicks in front. That's right - 6.16 to 6.5.

I hear that Scott is sending out an SOS to Travis Cloke to have him come down during the work and show the Geelong boys how to kick for goal.

Oh - and Geelong have kicked an actual goal and are now 17 scoring shots ahead. 7.16 to 6.5.

In the irrelevant game, the Hawks lead the Vomit 63 to 52.

And Geelong have kicked another goal. Looks like the last quarter is the part to watch if you love Essendon and Benny Hill.

Final.

Essendon 6.6.42
Geelong 9.18.72

AF Points: Z.Merrett 127, Fantasia 120, Gwilt 113, Zaharakis 110, Stokes 100.

It's a little bizarre that no one from Geelong got above 100 dream team points.

----------------------------------
Three quarter time.

Hawthorn 10.4.64
St.Kilda 10.4.64

3-quarter-time in Vomit vs Hawks. All square at 10.4 each.

Who knows - Hawthorn could be a real threat this year if they can hang in in this one.

Not really - the stupid points system rewards players who get the ball a lot, not players who do something with it. The Bumblers had much more of the ball than Geelong (424 disposals to 358) - they just couldn't do anything sensible with it for most of the last hour of the game. Also, I think Geelong gave a few of their midfield stars less work than usual, to keep them fresh.

The upset is brewing. Doesn't make our loss to them look quite so bad.

Imagine the uproar if the Hawks lose this and then beat us ("They weren't good enough to beat St Kilda").
