Why does private intercourse became social discourse?

Anyway, the first game is less than two weeks ... in the pre-season comp. Go pies.

Dicky Knee could replace Brayshaw.

Will the footy show do a skit taking the piss out of Lyon ala Wayne Carey when that particular scandal broke???

Bit different when it's one of their own.

The end of a lengthy and close friendship, whatever the reason for it, can precipitate clinical depression, just as any huge life stressor can.

Clinical depression is a measurable physiological illness. IF this is what Gary Lyon is suffering from (and who would actually know except those close to him and his doctor), then using it as an excuse would be the last thing to enter his mind. Just getting up every day would be a trial in itself.

If media/management choose to use generic terms of "mental conditions/mental health issues/personal issues" etc, it then becomes a big leap to say that Lyon himself is using it as an excuse to escape the repercussions of his behaviour.

Hiss wrote:Very sad to hear the news that a football legend Gary Lyon, host of the top rating Nine Footy Show and icon to so many younger players has stood down from coaching and television duties to receive treatment for unknown mental health issues. On behalf of all Collingwood fans, we wish him all the best for a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing this true hero of the game returning to full duties as soon as he is well. Our thoughts are with Gary at this time.
Nicely said with your tongue firmly embedded in your cheek Hiss.
Regardless of the cause, it's sad when events like this happen, for everyone concerned. I enjoy Garry's work with Carro on FC and I will miss him in this capacity.

Very mindless to pass judgement when it appears he has made an awful decision based on his mental condition and his impaired judgement. Can understand how difficult it is for poor ol'Billy too. I trust the support he receives will get him back on track in life. Let's hope he learns from it and moves on.

so banging your mates' ex missus is a 'mental health' issue now?
when will people start taking responsibility for their own actions?

Lyon is a disgrace, a kick to the face of REAL sufferers

Absolutely agree on this. I find it very hard to warm to/respect Damian Barrett ever since he tried to turn the departure of Leon Davis into an anti-Buckley thing. Garry is far more pro-Collingwood than Barrett.

Both personal and leave him alone.

For us on the outside of this, so happy to be shot of the arrogant flog.

He slipped something into a dark place alright!

Channel 9 saying "respect privacy etc". It is a pity these standards did not apply to Wayne Carey, Anthony Stevens and a few Saints players. It certainly does not apply to NRL players nor S Warne.

And Ossie Ostrich talks less shit than Damian Barrett.
Geezuz, so did Jackie McDonald....

Love to see Plucka going toe-to-toe with Crawford or another regular.
