The official injury list now has Gault and Freeman as done for the year (Gault apparently is to have surgery on his "groin/hip").

Take the train to Southern Cross. Change for the 109 tram to Port Melbourne. Get off at North Port light rail station.

Dare say we won't see Gault in a Collingwood jumper again.

True. Very likely to become another Ceglar who will blossom at another club. Some players just need the right environment for them.
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!

Continual issues with injuries season after season. Does that mean his body just isn't up to the rigours of AFL footy or that it is just taking longer than others to adjust?

Don't know but the club must ponder if he is worth the risk of keeping for unfulfilled talent or cut him loose. Sometimes I think these days, certain players are much better off leaving a club after 5 years of not getting too many senior opportunities (for whatever reasons) and trying for senior games at another club.

This may be of some benefit .... re North resting senior players.

'North Melbourne CEO Carl Dilena said the club understood the repercussions the decision would have on VFL affiliate Werribbee, which has qualified for finals but will now be without a number of key players....'

Yep. Currie and Daw the prime candidates for a call-up, along with maybe Kieran Harper, Scott McMahon and Mason Wood.

We'll take any advantage we can get, thanks... :)

The (initial) squad is out...

B Toovey Frost Manteit
HB Goodyear Scharenberg Seedsman
C Armstrong Karnezis Young
HF Blair Witts MacAffer
F Close Still Blair
R Cox Kennedy Dwyer
Int Matheson Moloney Viola Gray Hellier Monkhorst J. Williams Greenhough Wallin R. Pendlebury Wallace Taylor Borthwick*

After weeks out, HE'S BACK! Be Still Ye Hearts!

Take out 4 players from the AFL bench, gives you 11 AFL-listers, which will become 10 with a carry-over.

ANDOHMYFREEKINGGOD! THE BLAIR BROTHERS ARE GONNA PLAY A FINAL TOGETHER!!! THIS IS INSPIRING STUFF PEOPLE! WHY ARE YOU NOT ALL MORE HAPPY ABOUT THIS?! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Still and Close back. Makes up for no White or Gault. Forward line looks ok now. Get the win and hopefully we can add 5 or 6 more AFL listed players next week.

North left out eight players tonight so Werribee must be weakened somewhat. It appear their team still incudes: Currie, Harper, McMahon,

And our opponents...

Werribee

B Sherlock Wilson Brett
HB Laracy McMahon Sodomaco
C Fordham Hanson Munro
HF Crichton Porter Maishman
F Hussey Currie Speight
R Wallace Harper Conway
Int Wales* Iles Robinson Holman Ferrari Bolton Reid Mihocek King

3 very handy players in Sherlock, their captain Sodomaco and Fordham back for them.

5 AFL listers for them, by my count...

Okay, this is how the side looks right now, given the AFL bench has been finalised (with italics of course representing the guys who are playing seniors, seeing as we don't have strike-through font here)...

B Toovey Frost Manteit
HB Goodyear Scharenberg Seedsman
C Armstrong Karnezis Young
HF Blair Witts MacAffer
F Close Still Blair
R Cox Kennedy Dwyer
Int Matheson Moloney Viola Gray Hellier Monkhorst J. Williams Greenhough Wallin R. Pendlebury Wallace Taylor Borthwick*

Goodyear the consensus pick for carry-over emergency?

Got to say, I am now rather nervous that our best VFL mid in Kennedy won't be out there, even if North have weakened Werribee somewhat.

But then again, I'm nervous when the sun comes up, so...
