Isn't that what WADA is doing now?

WADA has stepped in at the first instance that they were able to. There was a process that needed to be followed before they could interviene.

WADA didn't get involved in the Essendon supplements saga case until early May after they appealed against the AFL Anti-Doping tribunal findings that occurred on March 31.

Up until March 31, ASADA was in charge of the case and attempting to gather evidence against the Bombers consisting of Hird, the 34 relevant players involved and those behind the scenes at Essendon such as Dank and 'the Weapon'
