Half time:
Anthony: 2
Dawes: 0
McNamara: 1!
A better quarter from the Pies. Buckley's showing a bit with some dash and nice kicking off half-back. Did make a couple of mistakes too though. Reckon he'd have been a better replacement for Shaw, much more like for like, than Macaffer. Could have played Caff up forward instead.
Very nice to see McNamara kick a goal. Did get another chance, but kicked it straight into the man on the mark.
Goldsack's not looking good. Beaten by a 19 year old in a couple of contests.
Special comment of the day from Rhys Jones: "Barham is quick and has good skills" . To be fair though, he did set up Reed with a nice pass into the forward line.

Well done boys!
Re: The Shoot Out!
As expected Dawes is not playing full forward and is having to play second fiddle to Anthony this week and has hardly had any quality ball directed through him.AN_Inkling wrote:Quarter time at the shoot out:

Terrible first quarter. Not getting enough of the ball, and far too loose at the back.
Only player who looks near senior level so far: McNamara.
Couple that with the fact both he and Anthony have to cope with sub standard delivery into the forward 50 and an opposition midfield on top then it's hardly ideal situations for a key forward at VFL level.
He's not dominating but continues to do a lot of little things like creative handballs and clever tap ons that bring others into the game.
He isn't a dumb footballer.
Looks fitter and more mobile than last season to me and offers far more upside than L.Brown as far as I'm concerned.
P.S-They aren't playing under a roof in perfect conditions either.
He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD!
