Good effort - dominated in the first half and could have been 60 or 70 up.
Excellent - H Shaw & Medhurst
V Good - Davis, Shaw, Lockyer, Thomas
Good - Didak, Cloke, Johnson, Wakelin, O Brien
Most other players were very serviceable without being outstanding.
The questions:
1. Do we need a third tall forward? I thought we were a little bit to predictable going forward kicking the the long ball to Rocca. While I thought he did a reasonable job there were to many times when he was one up against three.
2. John Anthony - how do you rate his debut - how good can he be? (2 goals from his first 2 kicks - thought he did more that his stats suggested)
3. Toovey - what is the verdict (?). In my opinion he does not look like he belongs - he lacks poise when he has the ball. He did not play really badly but I feel he would be a liability against a better side. If he gets another game he will have to show a lot more to hold his spot. Possilby a confidence thing. Wish him the best but not sure he is quite there yet. Others deserve a go, such as stanly.
We have a lot of improvement to come and expect we will start to peak in a couple more rounds. Looking forward to hearing others views.

Swan in a bit of trouble.
Were you at the game? Cos there was nothing on TV but a few wishful comments from the commentary team. They even pulled out the camera they have bolted to the hubble telescope, and tried to slick thru some of the grainiest footage since the Zapfruder film to desperately try and pin something on him.
The bloke in trouble is Pettifer...minimal impact but saw his head, and threw out his forearm.
Back to the game:
- Medhurst, i dont think it is too much of a stretch to label that the best game of his career. Could scarcely point to a mistake...it was a brilliant effort. Everyone missing those snappy goals...Medders takes a second longer, and slots a needed goal. Was fantastic. I needed something all day to separate his game from the brilliance of Heath Shaw...and the fact Medders nailed that, while Heater had a brain freeze in the final term was enough to arbitrarily give Medders the 3 votes.
- Heath Shaw...brilliant, end of story.
- Didak...my god he's a good kick. those low trajectory spearing entries into the forward 50 were like watching Bucks. Brought a tear to my eye. The exact kind of game we need from Dids.
- Thomas...probably not has prolific as the others, but he changed the course of the game.
- John Anthony...great debut, and his JAJH was clearly spot on about his goalkicking. I know its very early days, but both shots on goal...i just KNEW they were going thru. Very few players in our side inspire that sort of confidence around goal. Really, Didak is the only one.
Welcome returns to form by Pendles and Fraser. Both had great first halves i thought.

Good win and happy with the 4 points, but we were 56 points up before half time before they got 2 late goals.
Our % cost us in prior years, so really would like to see us start to bury teams when we have them on their knees.
Having said that loved Heater's and medders game. Pendles was good in the first half but went missing in the second. O'Bree struggled in the middle and Burnsy had a quite game so we got smashed in the clearances.
Still, I suspect we have a lot of improvement to come.

The best first quarter I can remember for many a year. Our ferocity and speed was awesome.
I reckon Medhurst arrived today as a genuine all round footballer. His decision-making was fantastic, something he has not always been known for. It's great having the class of Dids roaming the ground. All we need now is Goldsack, Clarke and maybe Reid and we'll be unstoppable. I'm still not sold on Toovey, and Anthony will obviously need time to adjust to the speed of AFL. Overall, we look to be in fantastic shape. Almost forgot, I reckon Rhyce is having a great year.
