The best win of the year. The best 'finals' type football I have seen this year from any club. The 2003 intensity is back and the kids are magnificent. Martin Clarke, may you never leave the senior team.

PRESSURE at the swans all night paved the way for the win. Play with that intensity and pressure every week you will win every game.

THE ROCCA incident if the match review panel have any intelligence his arm was tucked contct was made with corect bumping technique his intent was to shepherd and yes contact was made to head . My verdict thrown out or one match.

I much prefer that sort of win than a goal-fest. Superb effort. That is what Collingwood is about - an unfashionable team grinding the other bastards into the turf.

Loads of positives too.
1) Daisy is out of his early season flat spot and is looking brilliant.
2) Marty Clarke is amazing considering he hadn't played 6 months ago.
3) Goldsack is such a committed player...MM must love coaching him.
4) Stanley showed some good signs tonight. I think he will be a handy and tough player.

I didn't give us a chance. Reminded me of the win over Port in the 2002 QF. We out-Swanned the Swans. Amazing.

Tick. Who's next?
Get back on top.

Best win for the year. Easy. 3 out of 4 interstate speaks volumes about this team.

We beat the Swans, who had the opportunity to move into the top 4 and had no excuses for lacking effort or being fresh with a week off. We did it without 4 of our back 6. Amazing! Full credit to the players and coaching staff. MM deserves massive credit and reinstated for another 2-3 years.

Travis Cloke is going to smash a game open one day. His kicks will go straight one day surely. BT need to be on a per goal bonus!

I struggle to see how Rocca will get off. Its borderline, but wrong side of the border for me unfortunately.

Clarke looks calm and collected and didn't look out of place.

Stanely was handy and looks a likely type too.

Goldsack looks like a real gem down back. Very hard at it and plenty of dash, and has good skills too.

Maxwell got back to a senior role in terms of his playing contribution.

Wakes was the best back up backman we could hope for.

Rocca was fantastic. split packs and beat two players regularly

Thomas had one of his best games if not his best.

Burnsy should be knighted!

Well done boys. So excited about our youth!

Mint night of footy. We gave it everything and the kitchen sink AND shoved it right in their smug, chardonnay sipping faces. Yeeaah! W00t!

But it was great, the kids did all asked of them, young Marty showed real heart and poise, the veterans were great, Licca still has a place in this team, Richards looked really good...I'm happy, really happy. Life's good, just for a few hours, but I'll enjoy it whilst it lasts. Burnsy you star.

Hats off to Wakes, too.

Superb game by our boys, and terrific coaching by MM and his team. Boy oh boy have we uncovered some young talent this year or what? Goldsack was sensational on O'Loughlin and young Marty looked like he was a veteran rather than someone new to the game. Stanley did some nice things also.

We will probably have to do without Rocca for a couple of weeks, but this will not be a bad thing. He used his shoulder not his elbow, but the AFL has made it clear that if you connect with a player's head, then you'll most likely be cited. We need to be able to win an important game without Pebbles, so that the boys know they can do it. Better to have to do it now, than have to go through 2003 again. I'd say Bryan could come in and play in the goal square and change with Josh in the ruck. When you thibnk of the players we've got to come back in over the next few weeks, it's all falling in to place nicely. Whatever anyone does, do not book any holidays in September. Go Pies!

Excited? You bet!

But proud? Even more so. The fact that 22 players can give their all like the way they did is inspiring. Guy Richards' tackle on Buchanan was sensational. The tallest, skinniest (with all due respect, I lack size myself) player on the ground stopped the far smaller Amon in his tracks, at a time when they had the momentum.

To think of the future, and what it might bring...you know that feeling when something's so close you can taste it?

Buckle(y) in.

Buckley. Prestigiacomo. Clement. Rhyce Shaw. Harry O'Brien.

There's a lot of quality players lined up to come back into the Collingwood side.

I'm excited!!!

I reckon we could beat any team in the league playing like that. The skill, intensity and tackling were all superb. And this is a team that is missing Bucks, Clement, Rhyce Shaw, Prestigiacomo and Harry O'Brien.

On the downside, we did lose to the pathetic Demons 12 days ago. But, obviously the players have already moved on from that and are now looking ahead.

Best win of the season so far, no doubt (sure there have been some classics, Essendon, Adelaide, Brisbane etc, but this was a game no-one expected us to win, and against a very good side on their home turf.)
