Gotta give full credit to the opposition. They look a very impressive outfit.

It really hurt to see Akermanis chipping in for a couple of big plays in the 3rd quarter. Makes you want to scream.

Rhyce Shaw, you idiot.

And WTF has gone wrong with our kicking for goal lately?

Loved the first half ... we are looking seriously good this year. Probably the best young side in the comp. I wouldn't worry too much about today. There'll be times when it all falls apart ... and it certainly fell apart in the 2nd half today.

Next week is next week.

Didak yet again goes missing against the dogs and Thomas needs to focus on game, not hair.
Didak needs to grow some kahunas to match his amazing skill..

I appreciate he's the best we have at the moment so we have to keep playing him.

Really though, he lets the team down much more often that he lifts them. Continually misses goals he should kick and too often easily out positioned. Let's his teamates down far too often.

I know we must keep playing him but geez, I'm counting down the days for the emergence of some other key forward to push him out the side.

I agree with others who reckon that our innacuracy in front of goal at crucial stages finally cost us a game. However, there were a couple of other weaknesses which were exposed. Firstly, despite a good first half around the ground by Josh, we were beaten at the hitouts for most of the day. In the first half, this wasn't such a problem as our midfielders were winning the clearances, but once the dogs began to get some momentum going, their ability to get first hand on the ball proved decisive. Secondly, we did not have any effective crumbers in our forward line. It's definitely time to bring back Medhurst to open up another forward option. We'll be OK. Today was a reality check for our boys. We should bounce back alright next week.

Rocca missing the easy one kills us around 4 times a year, this is the first time for the year.
He wasn't alone - Heath Shaw missed a real sitter in the third quarter.

Yep, BOG for us hands down. Looks risky but he holds his own.

Screaming out for a leader!
The Early stages of the final term saw the young guys loose focus. Where were the leaders? They needed to settle down but they fudged around they lost their confidence in their ability. Skillful players fumbled and misdirected kicks. Numerous players didn't man up and let their direct opponent drift dangerously wide. They chased but with no real conviction. They didn't present the leads up the field. Sure poor conversion killed us. But what hurt us more was the level head that leaders provide. I have seen this twice this season (whilst at the games) fortunately at the Richmond game that managed to snap out of it and deliver a win.
There were a lot of good signs from todays game. Unfortunatately they panicked and fell into disarray rather than stem the flood of doggie goals.
Other comments
Didak major disappointment did not chase, harass and defend from the forward line. Looked unfit and almost disinterested.
Davis should have been used up forward.
Rhyce should have played mid field to break the hoodoo.
Dick beautiful snap and goal but does not contribute enough at this stage....too bitsey.
Fraser should be played closer to the goals 50m mark stretches him too much.
Meddars desperatly needed to rotate with Davis through mid field.
Toovey should play more of a role up forward. Again would be useful to rotate him and Maxwell ( now spending more time up forward).
It's gotta be RED! He's gotta be spinning.

It was the dogs experience across the board that won that for them in 3 yrs time alot of our youngsters will have built the necessary tank to run out those games.

Eh, was bound to catch up with us sooner of later. My biggest worry thus far for the year was that when we won, we didn't really blow anyone out. Of course, that came as a result of our poor goal kicking, which came to bite us squarely on the ass today.

Dick: Like Brad , but he needs to offer more, should do a bit more time at Willy.

Holland: Not sure how he was an automatic inclusion, will be absolutely baffled if he gets another game next week. I'm afraid he's reached the end of his potential and it's only a downward slide from here for him. Not sure what else he has to offer that someone playing reserves couldn't offer.

Rocca: Inexcusable. It's been a problem for years, and it has only gotten worse this year. It truly deflates a team to work so damn hard bringing the ball up to your forward who only goes to miss a sitter. Absolute pansy at times too. That piss poor effort to try and shepherd Cloke's attempt at goal was incredibly bad. The fact he can't out-muscle a Whitnall says it all for me. Needs to shape up or ship out. He has become too infuriating to watch.

All in all, a loss that was bound to happen, as it does with young teams. Lots of positives to take out, like Harry and Pendles.
Match in the gas tank...

Boom, boom.
