Johnno puts us in front

Bombers 4.5.29
Collingwood 4.10.34

Umpiring has been poor, favouring us slightly.

Right on half time, Courtney Johns kicks a goal for Essendon.

Scores level.

Collingwood 5.12.42
Essendon 6.6.42

Sets up a good second half.

Despite the scores, we dominated that quarter. Heath Shaw superb as always, really like the way O'Brien and Cox are going as well. Didak hitting his stride, Bryan has been laconic at times but has been pretty good, and is apparently winning the ruck.

Leading stats winners for us:

H.Shaw 18 (12 k 6 h)
Burns 12 (7 k 5 h)
Cloke 12 (7 k 5 h)
R. Shaw 12 (10 k 2 h)

Hitouts 11 - 8 to us. Bryan has 8 of those, so has been superb in the ruck.

Until Johns' goal, Essendon's 5 goals had been kicked by Lloyd (2) and Davey (3). Lloyd hasn't done anything since the opening minutes, but Davey is incredibly dangerous.

Laughably bad umpiring decision gives Fletcher a 50, but he kicks a point. Pies by 6.

Cloke lining up. Needs to kick this for his own confidence.

Didak kicks a beauty

Pies 8.16.64
Bombers 8.10.58

Should be in front by more, although we haven't been as inaccurate as the score suggests... more reflects how hard it has been to kick goals in this game.

Heater could come off the ground now and would still deserve to win the Anzac Medal.

A combination of brilliance and a lucky bounce give Dids his third just before the last break.
