Hard work following this team.

Nothing has changed for 30 years.

There are two ways to look at this.

1. Pick out the specific errors that would have got us the points and squeezed us over the line and then hang the culprits out to dry.

2. Accept what has happened can never be changed, focus on the positives and get behind the boys for the next match.

I choose 2. Which path do you choose?

Guy has progressed.
Cheese was fantastic.
Daisy and Pendles tried their guts out and still show plenty of class
Burnsy was hard at it
Heater and Maxy were outstanding
Johno was fantastic on one leg
Mag kicked three great goals.

We nearly beat the Premiers at their sacred ground with every umpiring decision and every bouce of the ball going against us.

More over the Willi boys smashed Werribee by 9 goals today and Cox, Dick, Brown and Bryan were very good. There is plenty to look forward too and at just round 2, absolutely NO reason to be looking back.

Go Pies!!!

I thought we played our guts out ala some of the 02/03 era games.

Pendlebury's star continues to rise. He just oozes talent and poise.

Rocca contributed at CHF like his glory days where he needs to be if we are to do anything at all.

Rhyce played well.

Daisy learnt a few things.

Heath Shaw and Swanny were good.

Josh Fraser had another shocker, Richards....

Of course we are all disappointed that we lost, but cmon we would have been more shocked had we won.
Get back on top.

honourable loss. To be honest if we lose to richmond next week why did we bother playing tonight to me after tonight honourable losses at this level dont count. If collingwood don't ask for a please explain from gooshan I am asking right now.
-wirpundas goal from the boundary line if he was not out of bounds when he kicked that the ghosts from the wayne harmes incident will be turning in there graves

-Prestis mark over head paid hands in the back please explain were his hands were was there a puppet show on the eagles player back

- Judd paid a free kick and 50 m penalty for being slung after the tackle can you please explain how judd disposed of the ball prior to that.

I am never critical of umpiring but we got a raw deal tonight.

Back to the game you could not fault our endovour we played a man on man game a couple of turnovers cost us as well(rocca to thomas was one)we were the better side I thought on the night but lost. Tonight proves to me when we are switched on we will play competitive football.
Licca had a bad night but kept trying. Nichols will remember his first game but be better for the run. Someone said Richards improved I must be watching the wrong match. Next 3-4 weeks will determine if Richards stays on the list next season.

.
I was sitting only 10 metres from that ,and the ball was defienatly over the line.Worst of all the boundary ump had a clear view of the play and was only 3 metres away.

Well just got back from the game and I was pretty proud of the boys.
We were expected to get smashed. How good was Leons Goal.

Umpires need fisting but we can hold our heads high.

To all the Pie supporters at the ground...Awesome...
Showed the drug cheat supporters we were all there for business

I found it quite strange that the eagles have a prompt that comes onto the big sreen that tells them to start chanting.

Unbelievable.

The Pies supporters required no promting, were as lound as F@#$ and stayed to the very end.

Great work leggie. I could not stand the commentary on 10 with two no-game no-name nobodies drooling of their bum-chum Judd and drug boy. If it were not for the noise you blokes were making I would have turned the volume off. I remember now why I go to the games and hate watching the footy on TV.

I would love the day when we could have Christian, Lou Lip and Peter Mc calling a game together. Now that I could listen to.

I have skimmed through most of the talk about tonights game and I am bemused by the absence of any mention of our NEW recruit Medhurst.
Perhaps it is because he was unseen for most of the night so we all forgot he was playing.
When the ball came in long to Rocca, where were our crumbing forwards , particularly Medhurst? Was Mick so unimpressed with him that he kept him on the bench for a big part of the game?
I saw one big kick into the forward line that went to rocca and resulted in a goal ,as well as a wild kick out of bounds.
Boy do we miss Dids.

I like Medhurst, and I hope they persist, but I honestly think the crowd got in his head tonight. Needs to get past that sort of stuff. Anyway hope he kicks 5 against the tigers.

Well done lads - top effort. Unfortunately the same old stuff cost us the game.

We have a group of mids who cannot kick the footy. Rocca and Cloke presented on many occassions only to be let down by the foot skills of a number of our senior mids like Johno, R.Shaw, OBree and Licca. Their footskills tonight we really awful and it was the difference between the two sides. The one where Rhyce missed Fraser in the latter stages of the third was terrible.

For the life of me I cannot understand why Davis did not get pushed into the mids and even Clement could have been pushed in their bc he had his worst game.

Pendles, Thomas, H.Shaw, Rocca, Cloke, Davis, Maxy, Lockyer and Burns were very good and I must admit Licca worked his way back into the game well but again his skills let him down regularly.

Fraser was a worry as was Wakes. Both look short of a yard. Richards was ok I guess. Meddy tried and I thought MM was rough taking him off in the last - he led Jones to that ball and got a terrible bounce.

Nicholls - has a go but it looked like it was a little fast for him.

All in all - great effort let down by poor foot skills.

If you could put Jason Clokes brain into T.Clokes body you would have a half decent footballer.

Who tries to kick a running torpedo?

Put him at CHB its the only position he has shown real promise.

His best game for Collingwood was against the Eagles @ Telstra Dome last year.

Swan has tappered off.

Heath is even better than last year.

Fraser has been awful.... was really upset hearing him recently talk about NOT wanting captaincy. Not good signs IMO. I think he is under a lot of pressure.

Not one of Clement's finest.

Thought the backline worked very well together. Very well balanced. If we had 1 dominant mid and a forward to help Rocca we would dominate this season.

I am not sure if its just me, but am I the only one that picks up on the obvious move by the West Coke Eagles, that when there is a stoppage or a pack that they have quite a few seagulls that just run straight forward of the ball, or head wide to the boundary, and collect the piss easy ball. Cousins was the master of this, and obviously has had a few apprentices!? If we can see it week in week out surely it is Obvious to MM andCO.?
