Here's my team;
Bryan Rusling Davis......Monster in FP, Lead Out FF in the Ruz, Crumber in Leon
Medhurst Cloke Thomas....Dangerous combination this IMHO, they can all mark, all crumb, all kick.
Egan Burns Lonie.........Still need a hard man in the centre, Burnsie or O'Bree, want to see more of Eags on a wing
Richards.................Needs to get game time into himself, get some confidance
Johnson..................Important year for Johno
Swan.....................Would love to see Swannie consolidate a spot in the middle (as opposed to off the bench)
Heath Maxwell Clarke.....Excited about having Heath and Clarke coming of the HBF's, Maxy gets a chance to lay a claim to CHB
Rhyce Presti Anthony.....would like to see Anthony play the Clement BP role of blanketing a tall or small
Licuria..................More toughness and hardness to throw into the contest
Stanley..................Hopefully finds inspiration from Burns and Licca and throws his weight around out there.
Pendles..................Important that he and Thomas get the opportunity to work off the second year blues early.
Iles.....................Bit of dash, option as a BP or run-with mid
Brown....................Provides flexibility, can play back or forward, fast, already pretty developed physically
Cox......................Still more Flexibility, big body, can play HBF/Wing/HFF/FF, good utility type.
Further Notes:
Nice mix of pace (Johno, Rhyce, Eags, Daisy, Iles etc) and height (Cox, Anthony, Lonie, Brown etc).
Hard bodies still there in Burns, Licca, Presti, Cloke, Maxy etc.
Excitement watching Brown, Clarke, Anthony, Cox, Meds and Stanners debut.
Resting most of the older boys, give some others a chance to press for Round 1 selection.
Most importantly, i think it's a side that could win a game or two.
If we win then I would look to bring Pebs in next week and start settling down our forward structure.

Most of my favourite bands start with "M" - Mars Volta, Mastodon, Megadeth, Metallica, Midnight Oil, Misfits...except King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard ~

Networks will continue to treat us like dickheads though and broadcast replays as if they are live!member34258 wrote:Ah, daylight saving! In the words of Homer, D'oh!magpie_1983 wrote:its on at 8:30 i thought, better homes and gardens hasnt been on for years.
Gotta get those drought tips off better homes and gardens. I assume this means that in the proper season, Friday night games played in Victoria will be on delay, not live.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did I hear Paul Roos say somewhere that he was happy to play the recent praccy against us because last year they played Essendon who were more advanced in their preparation and took the game too seriously?
If that's the case, then you might suspect he and Malthouse chose to play each other because they both have philosophies of late preparations, which traditionally seems to be the case with both of them.
If the Roos really want this, they will be given it. The carrot will nonetheless be dangled to our youngsters and those needing to make a mark to see how far they can take it.
I would read nothing at all into it bar a classic Malthouse late preparation if we got hammered and looked a bit of a shambles. Late preparation for Malthouse usually means holding back the big bodies, having a bit of a trot about and experimenting with key structural changes--and it almost always looks ugly and causes us to be prematurely written off.

Luke, the pies graced cararras hallowed turf this time last year.
Will be training there on Thursday afternoon.
If Collingwood take the match seriously they should trounce a team considered a wooden spoon chance.
