IN: Tarrant, Presti, Lonie,
OUT: O'Brien (inj), J.Cloke (terrible), Iles

This assumes no supspensions to Johnson or Burns and no injury to Holland. Brodie seems affected by his achilles. His kicking is wayward and has no penetration.

Maxwell easily our worst backmen. Terrible terrible defending. Out of form since injury. Has lost a yard of pace in the brain and legs.

Too hard to determine outs without knowing tribunal findings/injuries.

Players I am ready to headbutt are:

Maxwell, Holland, Licuria, Obree. I don't care how many cheap kicks Brodie gets. His kicking is going to be the death of me. Mind you the last game against the Blues was his seasons best effort in terms of 'impact'.

Mick needs to make the tough call and drop one of these mids for Davies.

Players not ready for it:

Illes

Players that are borderline:

Egan, Wakelin

It looks as if our hands are going to be tied with regard to our team for the next couple of weeks, with both Johnno and Burns likely to miss due to suspension.

Worst case scenario this week would see 4 players out: Johnno, Licca, Burns and O'Brien. The ins would then come from anyone of these players: Davies, Pendles, Lonie, Presti, Rowe.

There is not much else that can come back in anyway.

I hope that Tarrant does not come back in...after Rusling's performance last night, Tarrant should have to earn his stripes playing for Willie.

One interesting is Rocca. At the moment, he wouldn't be able to score in a brothel! Another 3 straight behinds, gave away a free kick when were going to kick a certain goal. He's only in the side at the moment as relief for Josh.

This is why Buckley can't be rested. He was BOG last night, and with no Tarrant in his way, he relished the open spaces of AAMI.

Side next week, may look like this:

B. Lockyer, Presti, Clement
HB. H Shaw, Maxwell, Davies
C. Egan, O'bree, Lonie
HF. Buckley, Rusling, Didak
F. Licuria, Rocca, Rowe
Foll. Fraser, Holland, Swan
Inter. T Cloke, Wakelin, Iles, R Shaw

Out: Burns and Johnno (sus), O'Brien inj, Cloke
In: Davies, Rowe, Presti, Lonie

IN: Richards, Lonie, Presti.
OUT: O'Brien (injured), Iles, Buckley (despite his brilliance last night, he needs a break before the finals, and I'd rather it be against the Blues than against North).

We desperately need a ruckman, and I don't care one iota as to how Guy Richards plays for Williamstown today, get him in the seniors, as Fraser needs some form of respite heading into September. It's only fair, and only the right thing to do.

Lonie and Presti are regulation ins, while I'd like to find a place for Ben Davies, too.

Outs, Harry explains itself, sadly. Bucks needs a break before September, and it is better this week, giving him the North Melbourne match to warm himself up before playing whoever/wherever we play. Sammy Iles wasn't too bad last night, but will probably make way. He's been handy, though, and looked more assured last night.

Keep Wakes in, he injured himself early, did well in the final term (save for one fumble), and was hardly our worst. We need him, he is a cool, calm influence down back. A rudder for the ship alongside Jimmy.
Depending on the way games go this week, if we finish 5th by the end of this round, i wouldnt mind playing bucks in our next to games, to finish in top 4. Then rest him in the first interstate game.
Interesting theroy, but we shouldn't run with it. We need to make every post a winner in the finals.

Can't see how people want to dump Licca and Dutchy so quickly - the latter was one of our most prolific, while Licca played an 'ok' match.

The players who were most disappointing were Iles, Maxwell, Egan and Wakelin. Looks like we've lost O'brien. Also, Licca, who got a bit of the ball, has lost a yard, has great trouble turning on the run, and is not near as damaging as he once was.

Obviously, Lonie and Presti will come back in. I'd also like to see Davies given another go. Gee we miss Leon's pace around the packs don't we.

I would seriously consider dropping Rocca after last night, but to be honest I don't think Tarrant would be ready either. Johnno will get one week probably and O'Brien will miss. Iles didn't have a great night but I think we should keep him in to give him more experience, we're playing Carlton after all.

Tarrant should not be able to slot back in just like that, he should earn his spot like the others. Rocca needs a rest/stint at willy. He is off the boil big time.
I HATE CARLTON & THEIR SUPPORTERS!

With all the reports/potential reports coming out of the game (see the other thread) we could be forced to make 5 changes (including Harry). Not a nice situation by any stretch of the imagination. At least we're playing Carlton.

Wait till you see who is reported & what the dumb tribunal does first before selecting the team for next week. Johnno might get an enforced rest....
We cant afford to not play bucks, alot of people wanted to rest him tonight, if we did we wouldve lost big time.
Buckley rested in a final? What the hell???!!!!! If we can't afford to not play Bux in a home and away game against Nth or Carlton, what makes us be able to afford to rest him against WC or Adel interstate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absurd.

Im actually banking on Burns and Jonno out through suspension. Id be bringing Tarrant back. His last few games against Carlton have been great. I think he's kicked 5 each time. Carlton is definately his bitch. We need him to get 2 senior games in before finals to regain touch.

Bucks should be rested and Iles should get another run, but im pretty convinced that he will not play finals. Just seems a bit small at this stage. He is quite exciting but.

in: Tarrant, Lonie, Davies, Fanning
out: Bucks, Burns (suspended), Johnson (suspended), O'Brien

Carlton have some height up forward, would not be removing a key backman

Dave

Have you heard if Guy played for Willi today????????
Agreed with selecting another ruckman.
Fraser will not make through the season without some support and clearly Rocca is not the answer after last nights effort
