Just fantastic!
A good win to reinvigorate the army
Our team looked a lot better with Swan and Holland in the team (Swan for his running, and Holland for his hardness/grunt at the ball).
Brodie also limited the effectiveness of Kerr (who although playing very well was not as dominant once Brodie went on him).
And players like Josh Fraser and Chris Eagen stepped up a level today. Josh kicked two pressure goals on the right hand pocket boundary and took a brilliant contested mark on 50m in the last quarter.
Chris Eagen kicked a couple of goals and was good on the boundary-halfway helping to win possession back for the Pies.
I thought Travis played quite poorly early and was a bit lazy with his first and second efforts, but he tried a lot harder in the second half and made some good runs.
Hopefully this game has run a few players back into form and given the team some confidence for the next few games.
Just a shame Licuria could not be part of it.

It was like watching the last 3 weeks all over again in the first 1/4 and then all of a sudden it was like watching them play that fantastic brand nof footy they played earlier in the year. AsMM said ,"How do you explain a lack of form, and when doyou get it back??" Today was the day. We are back.

Agree Muddy, but dont forget Burnsy, 1st and 2nd efforts were priceless! Once Maxys back our team will be even harder, Brodes was very much missed.mudlark wrote:How courageous is Heath Shaw?? His efforts today were brilliant, along with Thomas and Dutchy who we have sorely missed and I have say to Chad, "Time to go son" the game has passed you by, BIG time .
Enjoy yourself. Its later than you think!

Great win! Good games pretty much all round; couple of shockers from the usual suspects who really need to give it away. We looked a miles better side in the middle with Davies there and without Licca. Sorry mate, you've given it everything and we appreciate it greatly but, unfortunately, you've got an almost impossible task to get your spot back; the kids are taking over with the help of Bucks and Burns.
Great game from Fraser; broke even with Seaby in the middle, killed him around the ground and never stopped running. Bucks and Burns showed the old brigade have lost none of their nous. Welcome back, Dutch! Boy, were you missed. Swannie and Heater continue to consolidate their spots, both as brave as they come. Loved the hard running of Daisy and Ego. Terrific games from both. Davies showed a lot in possibly his best game for the club. Johnno and Locks were tireless and very, very prominent getting us into the F50. Dids was especially good up forward, considering his opponent did everything bar cut his balls off to stop him. With Bucks, he made it tough for the Weagles defenders.
We showed a bit of the non-stop running which characterised our first half of the season.
Thanks to those I spent the afternoon with at the President's lunch (more on that later). Great arvo!
