Best and most important win for the year. It stops the Melbourne loss turning into anything more than a bad day. Now we can really look forward to Richmond and some players returning from injury. Long term we can aim to snatch that 2nd spot from West Coast.

BTW, anyone heard about the injury to Johno?

Me to i loved it!! Lonies run early was important, as was didak and heath shaw in the third. I think good signs from Rhyce as he was finding the footy, his foot skills will improve overtime. I think Rocca, Tarrent and Dvis were good without being game breaking, and presti was very servicable against a somewhat more talent barry hall. I think Morrison probably played his best game for the pies tonight but still didnt do too much, the skills really let him down. Thomas wasn't to bad and i may have a different thought process about egan after tonights performance. I really doubted that he had what it takes in him but was very impressive. Pendles again showed why he will be a superstar for us, finds space where nobody else can. Don't know the stats but i dont think O'bree did too much however always looked dangerous when he got it, and the same with licca. Bucks gotta better as the game went on and finally Fraser and Travis were very very good in the ruck, i believe travis is going to be a superstar he just needs to get his confidence up. A couple of times he had more time however just blazed, at AFL level you really need players who back their ability and run and carry the footy.

My Votes:
3. Fraser
2. Didak
1. H.Shaw

unlucky half the side.

That was the second time this year we've dug ourselves out of a hole and won. And both times against opposition where it could have stuffed us up mentally.................

The wins over Brisbane and tonight against the Swans WILL define our season.

No Swan, no Holland, no Richards

Looking good boys, looking good !!!!

PS: Time to give Morrison a break, he was very good tonight, watching a replay (I didn't tape the game......superstition and all that baloney) of the game should confirm he went OK.

Great win for us. It now can set us up for the rest of the season, and we should finish in the top at least.
Did anyone watch the fifth quarter, and questions where asked who will win the Premiership Walls and Lane both said Adelaide and West Coast are chances to take it out, but Andrew Maher, said Collingwood, are we a chance, are we the real deal in 06.

Great win, was a little worried early in the third but we fought back and I thought our young blokes in Heath Shaw, Pendles, Thomas and Travis really stood up. Egan was good too, good return for him. Also a great return for Rhyce, glad to see him kick a goal, too. Was very happy with Didak and Lonie's games. Altogether a very satisfying win. Great to see them all playing for each other. Looking forward to seeing Dutchy and Swann come back - hopefully next week. Anyway got any news on Johnson?
Congrats Bucks, on a great return! Bring on the Crows!

Had to shake my head when the centre clearances stats came up on screen mid way thru the third quarter. Throbbing Balls goes on to tell us that who ever is leading the centre clearances is usually leading the game.

The Swines won 10-4 in the second, and were leading 6-4 in the third.

so much for your theories, Throbber!

Collingwood showed they can respond to presssure and when necessary take back the momentum.

We had so many players tonite who believed in themselves and MM's game plan.

Agree Morrison played well tonite - no sign of the sack of spuds - and our teenagers gained more important experience with September looming.

Great to watch the Pinot Noir supporters leaving the ground early in the last quarter!

We have shown this year that sides who can hold the ball up, chip it sideways and flood back can beat us. Tonight the reigning premiers did it and we were too good. To me that is the best thing from the night.

Morrison did OK tonight without being outstanding, Lonie went hard at the ball which he hasn't done for a few weeks, Dids was fantastic and every one of the young players looked good.

The balance of the side is starting to look really good and will get better when Holland and Swan come back in. Tonight stamped the team as a genuine contender. Great stuff!!

Burnsy is back to his best and it is great to see Rhyce remind us how important he will be in the next 3 months.

He did do alright, but that out on the full in the second quarter was nothing short of diabolical, lol...

What was great about this win, was that it was without Wakes, Swan, Holland and a real backup ruckman for Fraser.

Lonie played a great game after a shocker last week, great to see him rebound.

In fact, i saw one of the greatest moments from Lonie tonight, and it wasnt a 60m goal on the run, or a beautiful pass by foot....these we see often.... instead, he saw two swans on front of him...grabbed the ball, tucked it under his harm, and just ran thru them, and broke both tackles.

Its probably the only time ive ever seen that look of aggression cross his face, and i tell you it was fantastic.

Not sure if it resulted in a goal, or even a forward 50 entry, but to see Lonie do that for once was reward enough.

While im praising people...Heath Shaw...he has courage in spades. He saw Hall coming, ran in front and stole the ball. Another time was backing back with the flight knowing hed get crunched, and did.
Kicks without flinching knowing he will be dumped late.

First of all...My highlight for the year so far Nathan 'best capatain in the AFL' Buckley giving it to the weak, snake Nick Davis for doing what old Nicky boy does best.. Did anyone see Nick's Sydney teammates spring to his defence...? anyone? what an absolute classic..set the tone for the night.

Just guna rattle off some names now..

Ryche Shaw - Welcome back 2005 Ryhce.. We have missed you. He added pace and ball carry through the half backline and midfield and will now not fall out of this team unless injured.. Did anyone notice how many times the Shaw boys spotted each other up? Werent cheap kicks like the bowden boys either.

Presti - Cant say enough good things about this man.. If he doesnt win All Australian Full Back this year the selectors have no idea. Sydney went to Barry Hall EVERY time and every time Presti was there. A geat game presti.

Heath Shaw - I rate Okeefe very very highly and this is not just the collingwood in me saying this but has anyone here seen him so thoroughly beaten? Heath Shaw was amazing..playing with his brother seemed to lift them both a cog.. i look forward to many years of it.

Pendles - Will be the equal or maybe better of a certain gun called Nick DalSanto. Our compensation for picking Richie Cole ahead of him in that draft.. If he is finding and using the ball like this in his 3rd game.. Imagine what he will be like after he bulks up and plays 50.

Thomas - Daisy is back!

Tarkyn - tarkyn is back to his absolute best.. Reliable with the ball at all times..hard as they come again.

Burns - Burnsy has every right to be slowing down and playing cameos in the middle.. But thats not Burnsy! In career form once again and has stepped up amazingly in the absence of swan and Holland the last few games...PLEASE this guy deserves a medal

Travis - Was very handy tonight and it left me with a question.. Trav can be quite competitive in the ruck and will grow into a great CHF or CHB.. Where does that leave Cameron? I think Jason will eventually crack the team when Wakelin leaves but Cameron is now behind Guy Richards and his brother..interesting..

Obree - fantastic tonight..again got the touches and hard ball gets that go unnoticed by most.. also used the ball very well..

Malthouse - Outcoached the hell out of the 'sydney code' and Paul Roos... anyone else notice how Paul Roos looked at 3qtr time? he had a "Ive got no answers to this" face. Roos pulled a few moves early in the 3rd that came off and Malthouse struck straight back...Putting the vets in the middle and reshuffling the backline.. the result, Collingwood winning the quarter and the game.. His best coaching performance this year IMO.

*rant over*

GO PIES!
