If people think that that was a great game from Didak than we definetly should have got Stevens. He played well, did he play the way a No.3 draft pick should be playing after 3 years? Very debatable?Didaks game today should be classified as slightly above average for him,yes its his best this year which shows how bad a start he's had.If anyone great it was Goughy(less a couple of bad kicks)great to see him back.Surprised Licuria hasn't been mentioned,he is really struggling, should go back to his tagging role.I've said this before & i'll say it again Lonie must do a lot better or be dropped.190cm, 90kg, needs to do more, look at Mcphee today roughly same size he is very hard to match up & so should Lonie be.O'bree must be dropped, disposal is terrible & thats only when he gets it.
It's hard to sit back and accept that we were outclassed today when for the last two years the majority of these guys took us to 2 grand finals. But that's the reality. I'm trying to remain positive and accept the line that we have to be prepared to step back and let more of our younger guys get game time so that our future will be more positive. And the addition of Bucks, Taz, Tarkyn and an improved Leon will certainly ensure that all this bottom 4 crap will remain just that; CRAP. But it still hurts to look at the ladder and see us in the same boat as Richmond and Carlton above us fro god's sake! How has this happened?
Hearing the 'Black & White Army' roar is the greatest sound in the world.
Was reasonably happy with the effort today compared to previous weeks. We're improving thats the main thing and at least we're finally starting to look like a football team. One important thing I would like to see though: Obree and Shaw out, Tarrant and Buckley in.
We played about two good quarters of football today which was a definate improvement. However the time on period of the second and third quarters killed us. Same thing happened last Anzac day. We give away cheap goals late in the quarters.
First i would like to say that Rioli must have his own rule book. If at the end of the third term he didnt run further than 15 metres without bouncing id be very surprised. That led to the goal that broke the camels back. A few of his throws also went unnoticed. Lloyd still plays for free kicks which is really sad but what is sadder is that the umpires still pay them.
From a Collingwood point of view i though McGough tried his guts outs and played brilliantly. I still believe he should have played against Fremantle.
Didak played his best game for the year and kicked some lovely goals and a spectacular mark over Welsh and added some spark.
Cameron Cloke was impressive in his first game of senior football and provided a good contest and has a good frame on him.
The only downers were Obree who surely must be dropped and our forwards got smashed at ground level as the ball was cleared too easily from defence.
Surely Taz cant be too far away as for someone who didnt actually pull his hamstring he sure has been out for a while. Once Tazza is in our forward line will have more direction.

The Torres bounce is officially dead. You are walking alone now Fernando.
We are back. We have our mojo back to quote someone else a while back.
The Good
- The Clokes - Jason was back to being very physical and handy. Cameron didn't take shit like other first gamers take. Like em both. When Jason smashes packs he is exactly what we need down back.
- Dids - MM masterstroke. Benched and then unleashed. Hopefully turned the corner. Mark and goal of the year in one game.
- Lokan - continues to be hard at it + skilful.
- McGough - solid BUT will be in trouble unless he plays centre or onball. Can't play anywhere else, but neither could Greg Williams.
- Lica - started to find the footy again. Next week could be the breakout game.
- Woewodin - nice silky display. All class when he gets the footy.
- Rocca - starting to become consistent - which is amazing considering he is carrying an injury of some description.
- Cole - probably my mate Richie's best game this year. Amazing how solid the boy can be when you get him away from the goals and he plays the percentages.
- Burns - a warrior with a black and white heart.
- Presti - played Lloyd quite well, kept him to 3.
- Johnno played his worst game for the year - which show how good a year he has had so far.
-Richards is developing.
The Not So Good
O'Bree - helicopter kicks. At least he listened about the hair.
Shaw - looks too fragile to be in the firsts.
Wakes - finally had a bad game. Couldn't get into it.
The not sure
Lonie -Who did he tag. He could have done a good job but i'm not sure.
King - not much of a go.
Why did we lose?
Because we had no answer for Hird, Lucas, McPhee & Pig Rioli. Oh and last minute in the quarter goals to bolton and richards killed us.
Where oh where has our tagger gone? We dont seem to have one anymore and surely we needed one today as hird killed us.
Agree with Cam about Dids. I also was thinking that it was a great move to bench him at the start of the game. He's been playing poor and its as if it was forgiven. Today he spent most of the first quarter on the bench and when he got on he was champing at the bit. Also agree with Cam on presti, thought he did ok today
The signs were better today! - but I suppose if you can't get fired up and have a dip on Anzac day then your probably not Australian. Next week will be the test - if we are still having a dip then, then we may have a turned the corner as far as effort goes.
The system in the backline still looks really shaky. Could this be due to our poor skills by foot or have something to do with the fiddling of last years strutcure by Guy McKenna? If so why change something that works? I haven't noticed Brisbane(cheats) changing their direct style of footy!
Does Presti just suck or is he injured?
Can we ask the same question about Rocca or was his first half simply rubbish? Is it any wonder that when he does actually fire up for a brief 5 minutes we look like a 10 goal better side!
O'Dear finally got rid of the long curly locks but his time between touches was long and his kicking was curly! Surely the experience of playing on Anzac Day would have much more greatly benefited somebody like Mullins.
Life is very short and there's not time for fussing and fighting my friends!
We played better and maybe in 2 or 3 games time we'll actually win but I see nothing good happening this year. We can't afford to lose the first 8 or 10 games though to make the finals and for the runners up we are shocking. If we were a decent side we could still win without Tarrant and Buckley. They have their quiet days sometimes. Something died in the Collingwood spirit when we were flogged in the GF. I've accepted that the cycle is completed and we need a wooden spoon or 2 to build a great team ready for another crack at the trophy. This year is already stuffed may as well have it now. I just feel sorry for Bucks who will never play in a winning grand final side. I havn't seen too many coaches last more than one cycle in Collingwood. I reckon the countdown has commenced for MM.

Just had a listen to MM and McG on afl.com.au after on their post match comments.
MM comments: Thought there was a few good signs today. While its important to talk to players about what they did wrong, its also to discuss the good things as well. Doesnt want to focus on the negatives too much as it leads to becoming a negative club.
The players know where we gotta get better, he has to acknowledge where players have made improvements. For eg, Woey alot better this week, didak better, rocca better, cole continued his good form, Jason cloke proved he can still win the ball.
Disappointed they(Essendon) kicked late goals in most of the quarters. They are concentration goals, senior goals where some of our younger players dont have that experience to play full quarters of football. They just kept on and we didnt.
On McG - he hasnt been an on the fringe player. He was a young player who was inconsistent - injuries last year affected his performance (disrupted from may to nov last year with OP). If he can hold his form and can continue his rehab, then he will continue to play. Was never dropped because he couldnt play, was dropped because he couldnt do the things he wanted to do cause of injuries.
McG comments-
He had a delayed preseason with OP, regaining fitness from williamstown games. Came off ground at the end of quaters because of his fitness concerns. Feels he is about 100% now. He thought Pebs did good job considering the circumstances (without taz). Thought C2 provided a target.
Thinks the teams intensity dropped off late in the quarters and it cost them. Doesnt feel pressured as one of the young players to play well with the senior boys out.
And to add to that, Hirds comments on the post game interview was that he rated his performanc as an "alright game." I'd hate to be on the receiving end of a performance he believes is exceptional.
He also said that McG did some good things in the middle and that Jimmy Clement rebounded well off halfback

Mick is telling porkies that the only reason McG didn't play is cause he is injured. What about last year when he dragged every 5 mniutes when he played seniors.
Mick doesn't like McGough and that is why he doesn't play him.
Mick plays favourites - that is why O'Bree can get no kicks each week and still play and Williams will be back next week after one game in the Magoos.
As soon as he has a slight ordinary patch McGough is benched and sent back to the 2s. Other players can go games without playing well and keep in the side.
I still say if McGough had played in the first of the Grand Finals against Brisbane in the wet, we would have won it.
But Mick would rather cut his nose off than admit he is wrong (eg playing Jason Cloke up forward for so long). It cost us a premiership two years ago and will see McGough back in the 2s as soon as he has a 5 minute flat spot.
