Lara and Jacobs stopped a complete rout with a gutsy 98 run partnership before Nel got Jacobs for 58. 6/148.

If more Windies batsmen showed the guts that Jacobs does, Lara wouldn't always have that worried look. He's now 62 n.o. 6/162

Top knock by Vaspert. His 67 helped take the score to a quite reasonable 264, considering they were 4/17.

Ntini took 5/66 and Nel, 3/43.

Kallis (115 n.o.) and Kirsten (76 n.o.) have added 150 for the 4th. wicket and are just grinding the Windies out of the game.

These two batsman are classy but boringly clinical. This very pedestrian attack is not presenting many problems at all.

Kirsten goes to his century from a misfield.

158 balls is a quick hundred from Kirsten but he was presented with quite a few 'hit me' balls.

Nel and Pollock each took a wicket early but Sarwan and Lara have taken the score to 2/64. Sarwan is 28 n.o.

Lara out for 11. A sad dismissal in his last innings for the year and his 100th. Test.

He seemed to misjudge a slower ball from Hall and just popped it to short mid wicket where McKenzie hardly had to move. 3/83.
