Considering we don't play them again this year except for the finals, your entitled to get a little carried away.mel_kay39 wrote:Mate, I feel your pain. But the way you get a "oh god not another Pie supporter" look and a groan or derogatory comment when you say you barrack for Collingwood down here is pretty hard to take at times. You'd think we barracked for Richmond or something. Now that I'd understand!malteaser wrote:I couldn't get to the game last night, but was invited to a bbq with a bunch of geelong supporters from work. i wore my 1979-1984 duffel jacket, just to liven things up, not expecting much. But wow, was the best night I have had for ages with a bunch opposition supporters. Living down in Torquay and working in Geelong has been a nightmare with the smug b^&*)@^ds. When I left the wake, I drove through Geelong. Not a soul around. Drove down the streets, honking the horn and hanging out the window. Loved it.
Can't wait for work on Monday, going to get in early and get the song going, before the 8.30 meeting. Should be fun
I predict the mother-in-law will avoid me for the next fortnight. Not that I'm in the habit of giving her shit when my boys thrash her boys. She just can't stand it when they do!
May the seeds of hope bloom into the eurphoria of success. Go Pies

Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but one of the plays of the game was Chris Bryan's attack on the footy. In the 3rd quarter, after we'd just got a goal or two back after Geelong's 4 minute frenzy, there was a ball in dispute at half back. 2 or 3 players from each team went for the pill ... then along comes Bear out of nowhere with a huge slide and thump of the pill through traffic out wide to a running R.Shaw who bounced through the middle and found Leon all alone inside 50m. Mick would have been chubbying up after that effort.
Unfortunately, when I got home to watch the replay, not one mention was made of it by the commentators, even with 2 or 3 replays. At the game live, you could see Bear run a fair way to make the contest (on TV, he just comes into screen with an almighty thud).
For those that may have missed it, it occurs with about 9:15 left in the 3rd.
If he keeps that up, he'll retain his spot.

Yes, the ladies certainly came out with the hand-bags swinging au-go-go early in the 3rd quarter.Wombat42 wrote:An important part of the performance was that the Pies were able to apply "The Crush". I hope you all appreciate Paul Chapman's importance to Gee-long. 2nd only to Ablett. His absence was an unexpected bonus. As well as Ottens, who also missed. And i'm so sick of hearing about Steve Johnson, and "how great" he is. He is a tin-arse, who wouldn't get a kick in a lesser team. Any forward with a minimal amount of self esteem would have raped that pathtic rabble the Powder Puffs fielded in 2007 GF, to win the Norm Smith over Chapman. Not exactly sure how that happened...
Regardless, we showed no mercy. Nor should we.
I'm sure Essendon don't feel quite as demoralised now...
Wonder if Cousins will be at the game this week?

I havnt seen a more COMPLETE performance as that cats game. The boys were brilliant. I think everyone thought after half time that we just could not keep up the intensity or ruthless takling up for 4 qtrs. The young bodies came through, to think how much better physically we can become and the future is looking really great. Really hard for me to think of a better performance (given the circumstances) for a very long time.
Keep it up lads, GO PIES!

What an awesome game, the pies went sick!!! So many tackles so much pressure geelong didn't know what to do!! Makes such a difference when we have no passengers in the team! Come on pies we've got 3 povo teams coming up we better not lose to any of them! We can get in the top 4 if we keep playing like this!
BTW if no ones mentioned it Ibbotson got rising star this week.
