Very enjoyable review Mr J26. I had a weekend in central europe (Czech: friggin cold cold cold, cheap and great beer and food) so missed the footy (on the radio) and only just got to watch the second half on CTV last night (after reading a great 10 pages of match reports by all).

my dodgy ill-formed report on the second half:

CTV is not the ideal way to watch a game of footy, BUT is a lot better than nothing, thank the lord that at least us international fans have that. You cant really see what is happening behind / before the play or the jumper numbers - its sort of like watching the footy when you've had a few too many

Fox footy commentary was terrible and boring. They never seem to commit to a statement, or if a replay shows that they are wrong in what they said they just seem to ignore it in the hope that it will go away - but duck ok

C2 trying a bit too hard with 3 bad-first effort followed by bad-second-efforts in a row, at one stage knocking a clearing o'bree off the ball. He looks like he will be alright but seems to get a bit too excited / loses his cool. redeemed himself with a cool-headed mark. Liked his physicality though

Daisy could have easily had 3 and been the debut of the year. Looked rushed and ill-prepared when kicking for goal - a touch nervous perhaps but a very handy addition

Some flashes of brilliance from Davis, liked him in the midfield

why can't o'bree be a more confident kick? I think that is the problem rather than him just liking to kick floaters - he seems to take his eye off the play and look down and just bang it on the boot when he kicks into the forward line - sort of like the way i kick the ball. is frustrating but at least he wins it. Liked the whole OB / Licka / Holland hardworking combo which will be boosted by the return of my heroes 1 and 2.

Caracella didn't do much but i'm not worried - he shouldn't be dropped for next week as he needs to ease into the season

So good to see the Roc back on the park. loved the presence and the agro. think we could have easily won by loads with him, daisy and taz missing so many easy shots

worried by the time-on-after-draw shagging out the players too much for the next week, and also leading to increased injuries (is this to happen in the season regular?)

tarks - what a great little battler. Does anyone (J26) know if his long kicks are still as effective and numerous as they were before the injuries, or is he now a different footballer?

i know it must have been exciting to be there or watch it live, but after the fact and on CTV the standard of play and intensity didn't seem to be up to that of the regular season, especially the end of the 4th before time-on. But all in all a promising start and especially great to beat those suckholes. Can we please beat them in the season proper? Please, please, please!

bring on Anzac Day as i will be back in town (for a few weeks) to cheer on the mighty B&W!
McRae for Governor-General!
