I checked the footage and he's telling the truth, in the sense that he kicked our last goal of the day. Luke Power kicked the last goal for Brisbane soon after.

See from 2:20:00 in the video below, if you can bear to watch any of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFA9Di1kusk

I mean, yes, but "last goal by a Collingwood player at Victoria Park" is still something to hang your hat on I reckon.

What astonishes me is that he was responsible for not only our last goal but also our last kick (and, indeed, disposal of any kind) at the venue in unrelated pieces of play, minutes apart. I don't recall him achieving much else in his career, but that's certainly a worthy piece of trivia if nothing else.

Good thing it wasn't Akermanis (0 goals). :!:

Oddball Adam Heuskes was playing that day. Turns out his walking out on Brissy the next year let them recruit Mal Michael.

I remember that last game at Victoria Park with mixed emotions but it was a very eventful day, accompanied by my brother (Little Wonder) and mate (LazzaDeSilva)

Hated the result, nearly got chucked-out because my brother grabbed an obnoxious, arrogant prick by the throat and he ran to the Police, stirred a couple of old boilers into threatening Lazza after he was mildly critical of Andrew Schauble then to cap it off, fell over in the shower back at the motel and damaged my sciatic nerve

Don't remember much of the game at all but put it down to dementia

OK, here's another trivia question:

Every year, usually at some point in the opening quarter of Round 1, someone kicks our first goal of the season. Since 2000, nineteen different players have done this, and only four have achieved it on multiple occasions. Can you guess who those four players are, and which of the four has kicked our opening goal three times?

(Hint: the same player also holds the record for kicking our last goal of the season the most times this century.)

Now that's a challenging question, would be a complete guess, I can't recall one off the top of my head.

Just be interested to see if I get one or more so ~ NBuckley, ARocca, TCloke, ADidak.

None of the above! All bar Rocca only achieved it once (Buckley in 2004, Didak in 2008 and Cloke in 2009).

Well, that was a fluke, but I'll take it.

Okay, next question for the Carrinbush trivia buffs is -

Q ~ Name our highest draft pick who never played a senior game.

Two out of four, CPtechno! Dale Thomas did it twice (in 2006 and 2010), and Steele Sidebottom holds the modern record, having done it three times (2013, 2015 and 2017). Sidey has also kicked our last goal of the season on four occasions, including the last two years running (2010, 2011, 2022 and 2023). Even more remarkably, three of those were in grand finals!

Some hints for the other two players, if it helps: one kicked our first goal of the season two years running (2019 and 2020), and the other achieved his double in the early Malthouse years.
