Watts is as chilled out as the dudes in pineapple express! That aside, if we get him for a pick in the 30's Pies fans expectations have to be just that: "he is now a pick 30+ NO LONGER a number 1 draft pick!

Hmmm... We've been down that path before...

Does anyone know what we gave up for Alex McDonald?

Jason McCartney was #1 pick and he was a better player after he left Collingwood.

The thing that I like at the moment is there is nothing coming out of the club. Outside speculation and managers talking but alas the club is being very very quiet.

Even Watts, the player he is now, would represent a significant improvement on our current second forward. I think he would be a really good addition to our forward line. Team him up with Moore, Elliot and Faz and hopefully a developing crumber and a strong defensive forward and that is a good forward line. It would enable Grundy and Moore to share rucking duties.

It also frees WHE to play on the wing which is i think his best position.

Buyer beware.
The fire in the belly has always been his problem
You could be right... or you could be wrong, I don't know the bloke.

If he has some pride, then maybe with the right influence he could use the fact that he is not wanted (i.e. he is not rated) as something to stoke the fire. Proving someone wrong who had no faith in you can be pretty motivational.

Or he could just be a basket case and is content to never realise his best...

...or is it possible that he IS trying his best and DOES have fire in his belly. Maybe he was just drafted in the wrong position in the draft? He is having a pretty good career for a player picked at number 30.

Not his fault the Dees overvalued him.

Hunting wabbits?

Actually I agree - there don't appear to be any leaks either.

Ah the years kill the memory. Must have been our first pick. Still became a better player elsewhere.

After what was seen as a step Jack was reluctant to take--that of leaving the Dees

He has taken that step and been to look over Geelong as an option

We expected McCartney to go to Fitzroy, but they took David "Dennis" Donato; we were going to take Allen Jakovich. Wish we f&cking had done so instead.

Much is said of his not wanting to leave and also that it's inevitable

Been said Collingwood players have talked about joining Collingwood to him

The comfort factor of two ex teammates might ease his move
