Good looking team with plenty of tall timber to stretch the Swans.
My best 22 selected (two weeks ago) varied only by having Rhyce in and Medhurst out. All things being equal, I think Rhyce gives more run and line breaking to the team than the inclusion of Medders.
At present though, I think the selectors have got it right; Shaw's form has been pretty ordinary and he has been given plenty of chances this year.
I hope we haven't seen the last of Paul Licuria, but I suspect we have.
If he can't get a game against the Swans then I reckon they have decided his future is elsewhere.
For me, for that reason alone, it's a sad day.
On paper it's a very, very, good team.
Turn it on Pies!

After the epic draw comes the decisive knockout!

Interesting people say it's our best team. Look at some of the names who aren't playing who 12 months ago would have been in our best 22 if fit and available.Yobbo^LuKa wrote:It's fantastic to have our best team on the park at last...No better time to be able to do it either!
Presti
Licca
Holland
R. Shaw
Ben Johnson
Egan (maybe)
That's a reasonable turn around in 12 months, not to mention other kids at Willi who've been showing form and pressuring for a game.

very true, I think it shows how much depth we have, but I suspect presti, holland, licca & R shaw careers are in danger..stui magpie wrote:Interesting people say it's our best team. Presti should be ok, as wakes will retire this year I believe.
lica, r shaw, lonie, Holland & Egan will all be trade bait in October IMO..
Some call him Dids or Didak, but he will always be a DAKSTAR!

Rhyce Shaw should be in the side. He has the run and grunt to go with Goodes. He can run the lines, and I reckon Heath does better when Rhyce is playing.
It seems Rhyce has been dropped for Didak. Is this based on form? I doubt it. Is it based on hope? Probably.
I hope Dids has a blinder but he's been out of sorts all year.
I would've gone with Rhyce.

Pretty happy with those changes. Ruzza for Reid was kind of obvious, as was Fraser for Bryan. Sad to see Rhyce out, but someone was going to have to make way for Dids.
Lots of pressure for Didak to perform this week, he has to justify his selection.
