mckenna on tripple m commented that brad miller belted wakelin which goes to show how good miller is because wakelin is one of the best defenders going around. I just think he was off because he was getting beaten, still strange to take him off.

Well, I finally got round to watching the second half of my game tape, some thoughts;

Watching the game against Melbourne showed me how much we miss Rocca against quality sides, he can crash packs, take contested marks in the goal square and knows how to kick to Tarrant. Shaw will be a big loss too, he has heart, can run all day, and is an inspiration to the team. Also I thpought we missed Johnson, he can rotate into the midfield and would have been handy as an option down back.

It would have been interesting to see Harry O'Brien play on Miller don't you think?

As for the team that took the feild, we where in front till about 5 min before three quarter time, we where still scrapping untill 10 min before the final siren and where only truly overrun with about nine minutes to go. After getting up over West Coast and Geelong, beating two out of three premiership favourites isn't bad!

I think Didak is getting better and better as a forward/midfielder and Lockyer is developing similar credentials as a backman/midfielder. he was again brilliant against Davey. Elsewhere I thought our youngsters in Trav and Rus looked a bit all at sea up forward and Dane Swan and Maxwell where also outclassed down back, Rowe had a pretty good game however, and continues to develop. Fraser still lacks matchfitness in the ruck, and Cameron is still learning, although I think he could end up being a class player.

Overall I think we played with courage and determination, but our injuries (Captain, Vice Captain, Shaw, Johnson) and inexperiance (Trav, Rus, Swan, Maxwell) cost us in the end.

GO PIES!
go pies!
