Not much credit paid in this thread to the man who engineered the whole thing! This is a side that was down the toilet, missing key players, and written off for the season.

Fantastic turnaround in intensity from every player in black and white, but well done Mick, some of the moves on Friday were bloody inspired.

For me the two biggest things that happened on Friday were the emergence of Daks as one of the three or four`most dangerous & talented forwards in the game, and the arival of Dane Swan.

Swanny has played reasonably well over the three weeks, but Friday was the night he became a serious, first pick, senior football player. Before this I wouldnt have been concerned if we lost Swanny, I didnt think he had the goods. I was wrong. He has them, and is learning well from the very best. I thought Maxy or Rowe would achieve this status before Swanny, but they have yet to play a game like Swanny played on Friday. I'm sure they will, but they will be peripheral players until they do. (between you & I Maxy's time will come when we realise that he's a forward)

This, with the look of our new forwards in Egan, Travis, Booch, & Rusling, gives us reason to be excited about the future. And I dont mean in five years time, I mean the next few weeks.

We are in the IDENTICAL position to last year, with three on the trot after a shit start and Melbourne & Sydney to come. We just need a different result. Win the next two & we WILL play finals.

We have ALMOST got the habit of winning back, but it's a fragile thing. One more might cement it.

Let us pray for a maintenance of the intensity, & a change in umpiring fortunes (we should have won by 60 on Friday), and we'll be right.

Sorry about the late post but i had to say 'Told you so'!!,... my prediction was pies by 4 goals!!!!!!
Great win!!!

Is it just me, or do the 2005 wins seem to be really uplifting & more emotional. I thought the Blues win was one of the best we've had for ages, then we beat WC & bring the house down - Hawthorn,.. WOW, and now Geelong with Friday Night Fever!!!!....... Put it down to the dismal start that makes us more greatful for each win perhaps??

GO PIES,.. i wanna ride another wave like 2002-2003,.. just without being dumped at the end!!!!.... OK OK, thats maybe going too carried away at this stage - Queens Birthday here we come!!!!!!!
