The Windies were kept to 7/246 against Kenya.

Chris Gayle made 119 and Shiv Chanderpaul, 66. They shared an opening partnership of 122.

Steve Tikolo bowled a tight spell of 8 overs for 28 runs and the scalp of Brian Lara, for 10. Suji bowled well, returning 1/38 from his 10. Angara and Odumbe each took two wickets but were expensive.

Zimbabwe are getting closer to the Super Sixes with every drop of rain that falls.

Pakistan are 3/73 after 14 overs with Saeed Anwar on 40.

The match was first reduced to 44 overs per team and has since been further reduced to 38.

Feiko Kloppenburg became only the 6th player to score a century and take 4 wickets in the same ODI when he scored 121 and took 4-42 for Netherlands against Namibia.

Vaspert Drakes has joined Chaminda Vaas as the leading wicket-taker so far with 5/33 from his 10 overs. They both have 16 wickets.

Drakes' effort has Kenya almost down and out at the 21 over mark, as they are 7/55.

Kenya were bowled out for 104 in 35.5 overs with only their number 9 batsman getting higher than 14. Ongondo scored 24.

Germaine Lawson took 2/16 from 8 overs.

What a joke.......Zimbabwe pick up 6 points for nothing and qualify for next round. Kenya qualify by virtue of default as well.

Super 6's isnt really an appropriate term anymore. If Zimbabwe or Kenya make the semis this would be farcicle.

Im sorry but you don't have to be Einstein to have a reserve day for when it rains.

JLC, check the draw. As there are games scheduled almost every day, how could there be a reserve day for every game? Maybe it's possible. How would you do it?

There would have to be a ground, ground staff and a wicket prepared, all on standby. A logistical nightmare.

South Africa's fate was decided more by their own mistakes than the rain and as LD mentioned, once the second team has received half the overs the first team had, it's a match.

Obviously if it were to rain for the whole three weeks then yes it would be a nightmare....but we really only had two perhaps three games effected by rain.....they have three days between the normal matches and the super sixes...surely any game in which the outcome was effected by rain could be replayed on these days????

PP'03, My reference to 'a logistical nightmare' was to do with having a reserve day and venue for every game not about it raining for three weeks.

Your suggestion for rained out games to be replayed between the qualifiers and the Super Sixes looks reasonable on the surface but consider this quite possible scenario: Two rained out games involve the same team. This team, by winning both the replays, ends up on top of their pool and has to play on the first day of the Super Sixes.

That works out to 3 matches in 3 days, at least. This team might have played a 'rained out' on the last day of the qualifiers so they would then have to play 4 games in 4 days.

Don't you think the I.C.C. and S.A.C.A. World Cup organisers would have considered these factors?

Well its a waste of time having all the minnows.....Namibia v Bangladesh like who cares.

They need to allow one minnow country maybe two at the most to qualify into main group of world cup.

The West Indies missed out basically due to losing two point due to rain.

There needs to be a contigency plan for if the match is washed out due to rain. The first stage of tournement goes for way too long and is a waste of time and is just done for tv and sponsorship.

Why not have the old situation where everyone playes each other once. The top four go through to semis. Then two winners play in final. Space games out so there is an allowance for a day to be washed out.
