Zimbabwe scored 8/301 in their match against The Netherlands. Andy Flower top scored with a run-a-ball 72. Blignaut (58 from 38) and Streak (44 from 22) finished off in good style.

Kloppenburg (2/40) and Schiferli (2/43) bowled good spells.

Holland batted very well without really threatening Zimbabwe's 301 total. They made 9/202 with van Bunge scoring 37 and Lefebvre, 30.

Murphy took 3/44 and Marillier, 2/49.

Well, JLC, South Africa is not on top and if they lose to the recognised Sri Lanka, they will be packing their bags and heading home. Oh, they already are home. Lol.

Based on the South Africa Sri Lanka series prior to the World Cup, South Africa should start that match as favourites. All they have to do is get Jayasuriya out cheaply and see off Muralis 10 overs with minimal damage and they should win easily. However Sri Lanka has improved since then so should be a good game.

From a personal point of view Sri Lanka winning is better as New Zealand would stand a better chance of making the Super 6's stage.

Aren't you forgetting someone, m8?

Only the bowler who has the most wickets, the best average, the best economy rate and best strike rate in the whole tournament.

I'll give you a clue. He was Man of the Match against the Windies, last night.

Also, how can New Zealand miss out on the next round? They would have to lose to Canada or narrowly beat them and Kenya to have a big win over the Windies. I don't think so.

Well the Kenyans beat the Windies in the last World Cup....so you never know. Who knows with the West Indies being out of tournament by that stage will their motivation to win be that high or mentally will their minds be back in the West Indies??

Nope i think Murali is the key bowler for Sri Lanka. When he doesnt play their team looks like a rabble. He gives confidence to the entire team. Vaas is a good fast bowler but no where near as good as Murali in terms of their respective crafts. However yes Vaas does still pose a threat.

In the batting department Jayasuriya normally needs to make a score for Sri Lanka to post a good total. However South Africa in the last series had his measure and dismissed him cheaply on most occassions.

Tonight's matches are full of interest.

India plays Pakistan for the first time since June, 2000. Pakistan really needs to win this one and probably beat Zimbabwe in the last qualifying match, to make it to the Super Sixes.

Kenya plays Bangladesh in the pool B match. A win would take them to 16 points and almost certain progression into the Super Sixes.

Pakistan compiled a competitive total of 7/273 with Saeed Anwar starring with 101. Younis Khan chipped in with 32.

Zaheer Khan took 2/46 from 10 and Ashish Nehra, after a great spell in the previous game, went for 74 runs but did take 2 wickets.

This chase will be fun. I reckon India will get 'em!

Nope i reckon Akram and Akhtar will take some early wickets and it will be game over. Although it would be good to see India play to their potential with the bat
